Back on the topic of Sky, when we were talking about Forest it was pointed out that most of the fallen trees look broken but I noticed

The one tree we do know was cut down has a jagged broken looking top too

And those stone mushrooms, does anyone else think they’re dead versions of the glowing mushrooms? After all both Sky kids and ancestors also turn to stone upon death

There are a couple of type of mushroom that are pretty hard that look like those solid versions in the game, some of the ancestors used them to cover themselves from the rain tho...

So I think is better to assume that the sky children are each one of us

We know next to no lore about krill, all that’s canon is “the world of sky has a rich ecology of light and dark” so darkness is a natural thing on this planet

I know that they are airbenders and will blow you halfway across the map if you try to ride them on their belly

But that’s not lore related

Some theories about krill:

1. when the Eye exploded it called the krill from space
2. The ancestors built the krill to protect the holy land/golden wasteland (concept art implies this)
3. The krill are corrupted creatures of light
4. Krill are just big bois that need pettings and warm food

Also canon: we can’t fly through them but they can fly through walls and the ground

They look like real creatures, yet they don’t seem to be made out of something that couldn’t pass through a wall. The crabs seem to be made out of rock or something else like the children, yet krills are a thing but they can go through walls. I’d say they’re like shadows but that’s weird.

Since I highly doubt tgc would let them do that and glitch to get stucc ( ), it’s most likely intentional

Welp, sure they’re hostile but why’d you suddenly have this big rock when you could simply have a krill

As of that 2nd theory about krill, I wonder if they did it to protect the land itself from the people but now that I think about it

I would’ve said that the wasteland (along with hostile creatures) might be there to shield people from Eden but then it doesn’t make sense since vault would be next

but vault isn’t in good condition either, especially when you finish it

and why’d the children run around to ”free” other stoned children. Some kind of plan in Eden failed and most likely stoned those children and possibly did something to elders. Sending someone to free them is basically a suicide mission even though you also get freed but rebirth. It’s a loop that never ends, yet there’s no improvement.

We are convinced that we might lose some stars in Eden (at first assuming that the journey TO Eden is rough) but suddenly you get the plot twist where you actually are forced to lose all.

The children might be taught something, they might be going through memories or it’s just this plain loop.

I’m also wondering if it’s basically just us alone, running through what has been left behind by the now disappeared civilization or if it’s actually a bunch of children running together.

For me I used to believe those other children are just the other sky kids that were sent to do our mission but failed at eden. Now they are petrified souls. But then I remember that it said “return the light of the fallen” so technically we were borrowing their own light and simply giving it back. AND THEN I hear that the winged light is just imprints left from the child of light and we are connected to him.

after we die and ascend to orbit we see our friends names on top of the glowy sky kids that fly towards the glowy sphere that the mantas and birds revolve around too.
since the glowy sky kids kinda burst free of the statues in the cutscene after we die, it makes me think that the statues are our friends who failed our mission

i think mirian said that back in beta, the statues used to have your friends names on top of them. i still think they're the statues of our friends, since we see our friends names on top the glowy sky kids that burst out the statues when we're flying to orbit

I think that after the first time in eden we officially beat the game and completed our mission.......but we resurrect just to enjoy the game and have fun

And I don’t think it would make sense for us to go to eden for ourselves and to move on bc we don’t really have emotion. We mimic what the spirits have done in the past, so really we aren’t feeling emotion, we are just displaying emotion

some official canon says that skykids/spirits/notdeadspirits/idontknow created "Power Diamonds" using trees, and light. a good example of this is the diamond that powers the vault lift. Eden has also been confirmed to be in the state that it is because of a MASSIVE power diamond breaking (the one you can see in eden) , so it is cool that the big boy broken diamond in eden still has something going on in it.

Alright heres a brief overview of my megatheory, without all of the details.

Once upon a time there was a kingdom of magical skypeeps who lived in space, and sometimes some stars fell and became skykids (and some became elders). And one day, literally all the stars fell.
Having to meet this new influx of people, the skykids (skyadults?) had to come up with new ways to power their massive civilization.
They created power diamonds (canon) with trees and light to store and discharge light energy to power things.
(like boats, doors, the vault lift, etc, vault lift is confirmed canon use)
But the huge city of eden needed more than just small ones to power them, so they created a huge power diamond.
Eventually, something happened that made the eden elder go over to the Mega-DiamondTM to make sure everything was ok, and BAM
the mega-diamond shattered, releasing tons of energy.
The eden elder was instantly vaporized, killing him without a spirit. as he was at point blank.
The people in eden itself became statues so quickly because of their proximity to the blast that their spirits were trapped within themselves.
The people outside of eden still got hit with the blast, but the people died much slower, allowing for their spirits to live on.
The elders survived because they can blip in an out of standard spacetime (canon)

The megabird sends a piece of itself down, talks to them, they meet other megabird children, meet the old megabird children (now living their afterlife) while collecting pieces of megabird (dandruff and feathers) and guided by the megabird with other pieces of the megabird (like animals and gates) until finally giving your pieces of megabird to other pieces of megabird in Eden, then join the migration back to the megabird after entering your afterlife and hugging the megabird, FINALLY we enter the megabird and give it pieces of itself before the megabird gives us feathers spits us back out to do it all again.
Plus cosmetics are megabird magic

The story of Sky from the perspective of the megabird

Backstory would be The megabird was whole, with its six children (parts?) and a nice planet to feed and grow some friends for it’s children.

Then some megabird children left, and then with the megabirds newest child met some planet children who hadn’t joined the glory of the megabird yet. Together they made a huge city with the light of the megabird, where they hoarded pieces of the megabird until they stole too much. That much of the megabird’s light was too much for the megabird children to hold or anything except the megabird itself, the light destroyed the youngest of the megabird children and their castle.

That was a fun story I put together, the theory is: megabird is a hive mind of all creatures of light(ascent and office mural imply this), winged light might be megabird feathers, the elders broke away from the megabird, and the megabird is part of our natural life cycle. The orb of light in ascent is probably also the megabird (Orbit would be inside the MB) and the big orb at the citadel is possibly a model of the megabird

OH YES I have a lore question Aeri in the latest poll of the week referred to cosmic mantas as ghost mantas, is that something we can consider canon? That the cosmic mantas are the ghosts of normal mantas? Could we ping Aeri and ask..?

That is evidence for my sky whale- krill theory. Because there are sky whale skeletons in the Wasteland level of vault and there are spirit sky whales (they make whale sounds so I think they’re sky whales like the ones in other places) and so I had this theory that krill are actually corrupted sky whales

For a long time the levels had time of day naming. Dawn, day, forest-was-still-forest-for-some-reason... valley was mountains at one point... then I think wasteland was dusk... vault was night... Eye of Eden was its current name first, then it was Storm, then back to Eden... Forest was Weeping Forest for a while I think, I liked that one...

They go back and forth between if candle juice is wax or light

The doors you unlock in forest were (are?) ancient engines according to an old quest I think. "Activate an ancient engine" would trigger when you opened one of the forest gate doors.
