Actual Theory: The Eye of Eden is an antimatter star that began orbit around the world and took out a portion of the moon as well (leading to its perniment crest). The Eye is constantly losing energy and will drain all of your light instantly if you touch it (scientifically could be explained as annihilation [when antimatter and matter collide]). The star children constantly fight Eden in hopes of annihilating all of it and preventing the world from being destroyed.

Someone told me that the spinning things in the Citadel are part of an “orrery”, which is a model of a solar system. So, it would mean that when the Citadel was built, the world had 4 moons
The large one in the middle represents the planet and the four smaller ones are its moons. My friend told me that they have to represent moons, not planets, because of the way they spin. Planets usually spin around a vertical axis (with a slight tilt), while moons can have all sorts of rotations depending on how they were created.

I feel like wasteland was a weapon manufacturing type place focused on hunting and killing the krill. The soldiers and shears we see are what they had developed, maybe? The black, toxic water could be oil, spilling from the pipes that either lead to the greater oceans, since they didn’t have anywhere to send it. They were doing okay, but then it all backfired after the krills got too powerful and they had a last stand maybe?

In Journey the “krill” there are people made, and I think the same is true for the krill in Sky, because they both have flashlight vision/scanning and look mechanical in nature

Ooo, good theory, Jiisama! You have a good point, and it makes sense when you think about their behavior. It seems their only purpose is to hunt down and kill creatures of light. No other creature in the game acts with such motivation. The darkrabs only attack if they are bothered, but the krill actively LOOK for things.
