How to get stars after eden?

my first eden uber went great, i was expecting us to get krilled or hit by rocks in a way. We went 2 by 2 on the rock + krill part so everything went well.

ubering ppl is actually quite fun

@thorny badger so... when you die you lose all your lights, and that's supposed to happen

but, with the ascended candles you unlock wing buffs which you can understand in a way as permanent stars

so.. you lose all the stars from the realms and need to find them again

but as you collect regular candles playing every day, with regular candles you unlock spirit trees up to the wing buff

then when you die, you use ascended candles to unlock those buffs and earn permanent stars

that's why you start the game with no cape, but as you go, and the more buffs you have, you get reborn with more and more cape power

my advice would be... stay away frlm the "shelter" and lamps on the very left of the hiding area

i mean, sure you can go. there, but there are a few lamps where you get pwlted even though you're behind a rock

and then you can't get recharged fast enough to leave the post with 5 full flaps at least

if you wait to get recharged, the new wave of rocks starts

i've found most of the left hiding spots to be a bit unreliable

Yep, there are 63 total. Every 4 statues give you one ascended candle meaning you can get 15 3/4 candles per week

Not the nun looking statues that you light with normal flame, those are just to help you recharge

With that said, the optimal route is to regather all Winged lights scattered accross the realms through the Week, because the number of child statues per week is limited. so each statue you "free" in a week is a statue that will no longer be there for the rest of it. meaning you will have less statues to light in your run if you go again still that same week.

Thus, just take your time through the Week, readquire all the Wing buffs from the Children of light on each realm, and only then, when the weekly reset happens, go through it all again. with all statues renewed, and the regular wing buffs plus the ascended ones you might have adquired by then, allowing you to go even further and better than before

@outer oyster Just to be clear, there is no way to permenantly loose the Wing Buff, when you are reborn you always get all of the ones you have unlocked. You can temporarily drop them if you take damage without any normal winged light, but you will get them back when you go to orbit again. If you just pick up a few winged light after running eden though, it isn't really a concern. Since there are never daily quests in Isle of Dawn, I usually just run Isle right away and get those 5 winged light. After that, I just run levels when they are the daily for the most part

If you get hit, you will always drop normal ones first, which can be collected by recollecting the chlid of light again

(of course finding which child it is can be more of a pain than it's worth)

If you pick them up, you don't loose anything at all

@outer oyster OK, lets you finish Eden, collect 5 wing buffs, and then winged light during rebirth to be reborn with 6. You then go to Isle of Dawn and get the 5 children of light to have 11.

You go straight to golden wasteland and get hit by a Krill drop 4 and let them all break. You now have 7 winged light; all 5 wing buffs and 2 winged light, and 4 of the children of light will have reset (1 of which could be in orbit, but I'm actually not sure if the orbit one can reset before non-orbit, I've never seen it reset).

You then get hit again drop 2, and pick them both up; nothing changes at all.

You then get hit again and drop 3 and they all break. Now, all you have left is 4 of your wing buffs, and the only way to get the 1 wing buff and the orbit winged light back is to go through Eden again.

In practice, I've never dropped a wing buff because you will almost always have a decent number of children of light before you enter a situation where you might loose them

No problem at all, the game doesn't do a super good job explaining what happens to dropped light

@balmy mural Most effective by what measure? As much stuff in as few calendar days as possible, or as much stuff with as little play time as possible?

If you are going for as much stuff in as few calendar days as possible, you should try and get all the statues each week, which will likely take 2 eden runs per week (I got very close to all 63 in one run this week, but the last 3 are a total pain)

(Also, full candle runs every day will burn you out pretty quick)

@rose willow For your first run, if you get somewhere in the range of 10-12 candles (40-48 statues) you're doing very well. The first 10 aren't too bad since you can get 40ish statues without taking any damage.

I reccomend skimming through the first area with the rocks to get as many statues as possible (there's a map for it in the pins) and then going to the "area of no return"

chibi mask technically isn't necessary, it's a little harder to make the jump in the first area but its easier to avoid rocks (imo)

and I'm not sure about this one but i think it's a little harder to jump against the wind since I always wear chibi mask when doing Eden and I've noticed the wind pushes you back more than normal size, might just be me horrible at controls though

I noticed that when I get hit by the rocks and I have to go back to a lantern and heal, my stars in my cape go away and my health slowly decreases every time I “die”. Is this a permanent thing so once I beat the eye of Eden I’ll have to regain those stars?
