You get candles by giving lights to statues. The ratio is 4 lights to 1 ascended candle. You can go as many times as you want but the statues will reset every sunday. As for spirits, they're different from eden, you just have to collect the blue transparent figures throughout the realms.

If you do spend the red candles on orbit, then you will get wing buffs, which are bonus lights to your capes. so you can start with more fly recharges on rebirth.

later areas will be harder to reach with small amounts of light as the rocks are constant in those areas. If you have enough you can possibly save them all in one run but alot of the time you will have to go back a 2nd time
