It always seemed to me like starchildren are the distant descendants of the greater fallen civilization. Which is why we have a connection to our Elder/ancestor spirits, but are smaller in stature and not as technologically advanced

I think the civilization fought a huge war. The industrialization was taken to an extreme and poisoned the land and the ocean around the golden wasteland. It also seems likely the krill were created as a biological weapon for the war.
Unknown if the enemy was also our ancestors or if they came from outside
Our star kids are the spirits - the souls if you will - of that long dead culture, or at least the descendants of it. Maybe the “light” in Eden was the final weapon to win the war but it went wrong and killed everyone?
(A lot of it is deliberately left open to interpretation by TGC)

Interesting theory. I had wondered if it was punishment from Eden in Orbit for the "foolish" stars' having fallen as depicted in the opening Isle cave paintings.
The opening lines say light was infinite until darkness shrouded them or something. Maybe Eden's earthly city's crown was purposely broken to sever their connection to the Crown constellation seen from Orbit.

I like the idea that incarnating doesn't necessarily have to mean incompatibility or enmity between astral and corporeal. So it's possible that wanting to experience life need not be incompatible with "infinite light", I wonder.

I assiduously avoid krill, so have to ask what about the ship specifically you find to be evidence that sky kids' ancestors are who, as it were, laid waste to whatever Wasteland was.
wasteland is a weird place, if eden was the center of the civilization, they;d have more buildings around it.
but instead the wasteland looks like something industrial with the pipe and stuff, but also some huge defensive structures and war remains like the catapult and ships.
Eden would I think have been the capital as a seat of government, whereas Wasteland probably would have been more like the capital of industry and logistics? 🤔
Battlefield's temple, though, is clearly a fortress, IMO.
Definitely not what I'd consider a capital, too military with not enough else around.

The Fallen in Storm I think are predecessors to us, dispatched by the Crown or whoever narrates the opening, and commands you as a child of light to return the stars.
Wing buffs are purchased with Ascended Candles by freeing Fallen from Storm through the gifting of a Winged Light gathered from Stars throughout the realms. Buying one means that spirit grants you a star before your next Rebirth, and on top of anything found in the realms, gradually increasing your max cape power in life.

So
I just tried to go through the game again and paying attention to the surroundings
I think the civilization used to worship the stars
They prayed for something / in a position of a prayer.
Apparently, something fell from the sky as they prayed
Notice that there's only 2 person who greeted the fallen object with enthusiasm.
They tinkered with the fallen object, probably learned something that might help them utilize the object.
From what I understand, this is pre-Eden. They were not an advanced civilization until they discovered the fallen object.
Eventually, the learned something about the object and able to utilize it to create a ship. A flying ship, and they're carrying it somewhere.
The painting might be what they wanted to build with the new knowledge they uncovers. Their vision of the future.
The first elder, he's very old and probably are the oldest. He used the staff that probably are powered with the energy from the fallen object. To create things. Notice that he then pointed the staff to Eden, which probably means he envisioned the future ahead and wanted to build and utilized the maximum potential of the object.
In the prairie, most of the object that you could find is some kind of a vase. It is possible that the people of prairie is responsible for transporting the fallen object using that vase.
The second elder, carry a huge vase. He also turned light into a living being. It is possible that they unlocked the knowledge to create living being from a source of energy, preferably fire/light.
That's all what I can learn for now. About the missing person at the cave's painting, it is probable that he opposes the idea of using the fallen energy. He might be the one who caused the war between the fallen object bearer, and those who rejected.

Remember you can go again @nocturne kernel , collect star children throughout the game and then run to the start of the constant storm, then use the bulk to collect the furthest statues. Two trips should let you gather all.

It’s the same each time as far as content.
You lose all your stars, die, and then get your permanent wing buffs return as you exit Eden on your way to rebirth.

@unkempt pecan I kinda have same situation before but not eden gate. I go through the gate and cannot see my friend at valley of Triumph . My friend tried to join me but still separated.
I ask the support center and they told me to install the app again (but be sure you log in your Game Center to keep your data) after I reinstalled I can see other player and go through door with my friend again .
You can try ask them through support center too. hope it helps!!

I know it's a minimalist drawing, but the thing about the orb if it's light is there's no indication of light being thrown off it, no rays. The constellation lines get really complicated around there, too. There's a star in the middle of the orb where a line down from the very top of the crown and then the star from behind the figure's head meet. No idea what to make of that, if anything. Just noticing.

@rigid trellis best route is on the left side after the little stair construction. You can hide behind a ledge that juts forward, or a rock to the very left.
Then let the krill move from left to right before you run/skip.
And well, also make sure the rocks aren’t tumbling down the hill.

When you ascend your friendship to warp you have to unlock the path twice, each costs 1 ascended candle. The unlocks have the same winged star symbol as when you ascend a spirit. Does it mean that I will get wing buffs for each winged unlock when ascending friendship? And both people, the giving and receiving friend, get the wing buff or only the player spending the red candles?

I just got into the last section of Eye of Eden where you give your winged light to the children, and there are ABSOLUTELY no children to give my winged light to! Like, it looks like someone has already been here and have already given light to the children. The only statues left I can give light to are at the end. I left and came back and it was still like this. Out of my 75 winged light, I only got to give them to 10 children because there were no children to give them to! Does anyone know why this would happen? I’m just super mad because I just when through eden for nothing and I’m not going to get a lot of ascended candles...
