cause it doesn’t stop until you’ve lost everything
and then for every statue you deposited a star in, you get star candle wax which you can use to ascend spirits in the constellation before the credits, where each ancestor you ascended gives you 1 “permanent” star (you will lose these stars in the storm, but are given them back at the end of every eden run)

Does anyone fully understand the logic behind when the red shards become constant vs intervals with pauses in the last stage of Eden? In this most recent run, it paused long enough for me to run nearly to another candle but one barely nicked me and I went back to regain my light at an earlier candle. When I waited for the storm to pause again, it never did. Originally I had always thought it was just a trigger once you reach a certain point, but that made me question wether it was A) time based, B) triggers based on reaching a distance, but the storm becomes continuous everywhere once the trigger activates (not just in the parts that are further), or C) triggers purely based on where you are in the map and the storm is only continuous in those spots (and what happened to me was a bug)

If that's definitely the case, it means you can't go in and out of that area from different vantage points to A/B test which is the best in the same run
Do y'all know if anyone has done videos on the safest pathway to take in Eden? (Especially at the end). I assume there are ways to make to some of the final couple candles with some of your own candle left, but I've never made it to the last couple without both me and my partner/group getting beaten down by the storm.

The problem about mapping a path through the eye is that 1. it’s super hard to make a map and 2. The statues change each week, you would need some sort of algorithm or nolife making the paths to keep up

it’s definitely not meant to be able to do all in one run. the ones past the constant rain part are almost impossible to get to without using up a good chunk of your stars. it would be nice to see a map of where the TORCHES are, however, so you can safely get to the end without losing too much
though it seems the torches do stop before the constant rain 😦 and it’s usually not worth back tracking if you get hit too hard to light the next one

@austere geyser, when you buy your upgrades in Eden, you are awarded them by the spirits as you walk down the path. If you buy them in Home after you are reborn, you are awarded them at the end of your next trip to Eden. So it’s faster to buy them in Eden.
@warm thunder, I turn up my device brightness all the way for Eden. I also make sure that the iOS Night Shift setting is off. There are different variations in the same general path to get up to the star kid hallway.

Yeah, it’s really good. The trick when doing Eden at first is to ascend spirit that only need one candle. You get the most lights that way. Then go for the ones that require more.

The entire game you are told to hold onto your light, the light lets you fly.Then at the end of the game it challenges you to give away the gift of flight. The game basically makes you give away your security, and I really enjoyed that! Hats off to everyone at Thatgamecompany!

Well eden resets for everyone as far as I know you can’t really check a timer or anything you can know how many you’ve turned in via the received ascended candles which is one way to check if you are “done with eden” for the week

Cover out to the left gets really unreliable, especially with water at the statues.
One hit there and you can be out, which if you've not lit statues yet, is bad news.

Yup at some point you make the choice to just go for the final few you can see I try to light the statues as close to the eye as possible and just grab everyone in between and then book it for the end with 50+light as my shield and sword

I did find a statue quite close to the mouth of the storm way on the left, though. so they do accommodate that. It's getting there that's the tricky part. Or at least, with enough wings still for it to be worth that approach to the statues from there.

I unlocked the Levitation spirit so it'll be a while before I can spread myself thin toward the lower-tier elder constellations.
If you max out a constellation, another star in it appears.
Well, you can see the star already: a spirit becomes available, an elder spirit.
But to max, you have to unlock every single thing on offer.

Heh I was there with bunch of ppl and as we separate in the they all slowly disappeared, had no idea what’s gonna happen and just run through it hoping o could survive, the whole ending was a nice surprise, I thought I messed up when I didn’t make it through and I barely rescued any spirits 😂

Uh I didn't gather star children in this one, so its more catered to an audience who doesn't have to worry about gathering stars. If that's what you mean.

@autumn kelp you need a minimum of 20 stars, but I recommend going with at least 40. I don’t go with under 80 but that’s just my preference

So for first-timers, I would recommend you just dive in when you finish the vault, and see what happens. As long as you meet the minimum star req, then something will happen!

So there is a “point of no return” that is very difficult to find. I found it last night and with it more statues but I lost a ton of light finding it and only got 1 more candle. You should have gotten 9 candles without that area. One you go here the rock rain doesn’t stop again @broken delta
