Because
- the game very probably will use WASD and the sky keyboard uses those keys too, but this isn't the big issue.
- is the real issue, on most pc keyboards you can press max 2 buttons at the same time (because of membrane keyboard ghosting, which is a physical limitation). On skymusic website there is already this functionality but it's quite hard to use just because of this problem. But if you have a mechanical keyboard it should be fine
But maybe they might add it for the lucky ones who own a mechanical keyboard

Ah.. there's a way by converting mp3 into midi files, then stuck it into @trail dirge 's website (composer) then it should have a range for it. You'll need to edit it since the note range will definitely be out and you have to adjust them back

In case anyone wondering how to get Sky's Soundtrack in a high-quality, lossless .FLAC format, I have good news for you:
Give Tidal a try. Tidal is a streaming service similar to Spotify, but unlike other sites, Tidal does not downsample the tracks. Instead, they get the digital recordings right from the music label. So you can listen to a ~600 kb/s stream of Sky's OST, which is quite impressive! (16 bit 44.1kHz = CD quality)
Though you need a Tidal HiFi subscription to play them and it's quite limited as it's not allowed to download/transfer these tracks to local storage or an external media player. But it gets the job done. Hope this helps!

@sturdy prairie it's not possible but you can do it by first loading one sheet, copying everything (only the layer you need) then loading another song and pasting what you copied

Through music, you have an S shaped symbol, a "to coda" word, a d.s. al coda, and a 0 with a plus in it.
First play through until you see the word d.s al coda.
Next: find that S shaped symbol thing a bunch of measures before that (it's like a mini repeat) and start playing from there.
When you see the word "to coda" ignore all music after that and jump to that 0 with a plus sign
Readers digest: It's a very convoluted way of a "first ending" and "second ending" (more useful in some songs than others)

- You can't combine notes to become a certain note
- You need to shift it down an octave or use an alternate note
Example: the 16th note can't be played, I use the 15th note to replace it or I shift the note lower to the lower D which is the 9th on the keyboard

- Expanding key range will lead to more confusions especially those who doesn't know music
- The key changes at different places. This is a setting in the game to make it unique or else why would you go places to play music

A way to create music:
What is the first note of your song? Try playing around with the buttons until you hear something similar, or exactly like that first note. Keep going! Try the second note, then the third, then so on and so forth. Sooner or later you'll know all the corresponding buttons for each note! Congrats on ur first learned song! Not ready for something long? Try something short, such as a nursery rhyme!

Device incompatibility maybe, check dms maybe it's just a dumb problem.
The website allows for as many fingers to be pressed as you can. If you have issues try enabling "compatibly mode" in the settings on top left

^^the black notes are called accidentals! accidentals are flats or sharps/black notes that are not a part of the key signature of the original key. i’m sure someone has made the theme, though, because it’s super popular!

Don't know if it was me probably not but i often play "Always with me" from Spirited Away and like to play in the Wasteland since the sky background music doesn't interfere hehe. Also it's true what you said, i love to hear other people play music, it brings joy to the game.

For how to transcribe them
It's best if you know music so you can directly transcribe it into sky by using the apps/websites mentioned. If no, you'll might have to find ways to do so:
- try searching if anyone made a cover of it in this channel or maybe YouTube. Then use it as a reference video for practice
Or
Stuck the YouTube link into one of thoseillegalonline YouTube converters to convert it into midi file. Then you can put it into this website: https://sky-music.herokuapp.com/songComposer.html then edit the file to suit the key range. Note that the converted file might turn out weird since the converter isn't 100% accurate cuz of the key range and stuffs
