@cobalt lagoon ooph chords are my nemesis. Hope you find someone. You might want to try consulting some sheet music. The sky wiki (and I think also the pinned messages in this channel) help you see where the notes fall on the Sky instrument interface. So you can basically just translate it.

the sky wiki's Music Guide page has a list of all the keys and what areas they are in. g major is in the social space of forest.
learning how to play music in sky is, imo, entirely memorisation. its like learning to type on a keyboard or play a real instrument, though arguably less complicated. with practice itll be easier to play faster and more fluidly, no gettin round that (itll become muscle memory and instinctive). if ur not into memorising songs to play them, theres the alternative of getting good at recognising the abc1-5 notation / making your own script translations and playing by sight with only the muscle memory to help you along. gl ! dont accept that u cant ever b good, caus thats simply not true unless u make it out to be. w/ some dedication and determination u got this

I start learning songs that are somewhat simple with a bit of repetiveness so that, like arti said, it becomes muscle memory. A few suggestions would be:
-The chorus of the Skyrim theme
-Nerevar Rising (Morrowind)
-Song Of Storms (Ocarina Of Time)
-Dearly Beloved (Kingdom Hearts)
-the intro of Crazy Train (Ozzy Osbourne)

Yes, that particular chart shows note names by Western notation style. The key the instruments are tuned to change by location, so C3 turns into (randomly naming a note here) D4 in some areas, with F turning to F# and C turning to C# so that it all stays tuned to a major key. This is the same for all 15-note sky instruments

I just realized that a marimba has no flats nor sharps, just as in Sky. So I’m uploading here a scan of the little songbook that goes with it. Notation is Jianpu, so that 1 = C (the first button in Sky, aka position A1), and all notes lie within one octave, except for two songs where you must interpret 8 as the C in the next octave (middle button in Sky, aka B3).

@woven swan are you sure the upper left note is C3 and note C4 for Sky’s piano? I haven’t checked the exact pitch but C4 is what is used by skysheetmusic.com

I don’t use western notation for Sky music stuff and didn’t make the chart kuii referenced, so I make no claims to what it actually corresponds to on a real piano

But when a sky instrument is tuned to C Major, the buttons in positions A1, B3, and C5 all correspond to the note C

Random tip for anyone with trouble keeping beat: If you have a clock or any device that keeps beat, (?) then you can either sit next to it or put it close by so it’s easier to keep beat with the song you’re playing. That’s what I do, and it helps a bit. I hope this helps you too! pSkyHeart

It's really hard to find a spot! Like really hard. When people hear your music they'll come to listen! You could try deep in one of the mazes in the hopes that people will get lost instead of finding you. Or in Eden! People rarely stop there for anything, and there are a few good off the path safe spots to hide out in. Just don't go too far or you'll get stormlocked.
