the larger bell definitely has more of a long vibrating sound while the small bell’s notes are very short and definite

I learned it by ear so I didn’t write down sheet music for it, but the visual pattern of the notes on the keyboard is one I’ve found is easier to remember.

The Sky keyboard is always major but the keys are relative—they don’t always play the exact same note because the scale it’s tuned to changes to fit the bgm. So depending on the bgm the same key on the keyboard could be a C, D, or A for example.

One thing I like about the Sky note layout is that my improvisations in Sky sound entirely different than what I play in real life, just because the nature of assembling chords/melody is so different.

I have a hunch that for those without piano baggage, the much more "geometric" chord shapes are easier to memorize and experiment with as well

It did take a while for it to click with me, though. I forget about that sometimes.

@sand jay (and @quasi bane), the keyboards for the instruments are not tuned to one set scale. They are tuned to a major scale (2 octaves, no accidentals), and the actual scale/key they’re tuned to changes to match the different bgm in the game.

You can read a bit more in the pinned posts. One links to a forum thread with more of an explanation. Another post shows the ABC notation system for player-written sheet music. CandleLighting

It can take a bit of getting used to depending on how used to western music notation you are, but it makes memorizing chords more a matter of memorizing visual patterns, and even without extra sharps and flats you can do a LOT ^^ 🎶

Fun times when I was a noob: I didn’t realize the key was intentionally switching to match whatever was happening in the game, and there was no explanation about it. I sent in dozens of reports about the buggy instruments suddenly changing pitch without warning. Poor Support sLUL

Anyone know the notes for the song of storms? I’ve heard so many people play it, I wanna learn so bad 😂 (also I’ve heard that there are different types of note readings? I do it in order like a1 a2 a3 a4 a5 then the next row under it is just b but the same notes, i have no idea what the other type is though, also, if this isn’t the right channel to ask this question, I’m very sorry, I’ll move it to the appropriate channel)

the notation system is pinned for the abc fhing, notes in [] square brackets are chords to be played at the same time, the ones in () round brackets in the chords are optional i guess because thats the part where a whole bunch of things are missing (it sounds weird either way lol) and i just stick the / in for readability they help me lol

@dry ingot you might have that feeling, but there is tons of different people on sky now if you haven’t noticed(?) so doing covers of songs is natural to learn and also fun that people can cover them in such a fantastic game 🤗

It’s a song called Transparent/Toumei Answer from Kagerou Project

#

It’s a pretty soft song and doesn’t include a lot of background instruments like other songs in the project so I thought it would translate well
