I played a bit of Flower years and years ago, and that was great. Journey came to me as a Playstation Plus , and I adored that beyond Flower, fully completed it too, to the point I would've had a platinum I believe (which I don't think exists for it). Sky throws me back to the days of using those cloth strips and limited flight to float myself around, and it very much reminds me of some core themes from Journey.
The one thing before allll of this though, was my want for Flow on PSP. Never got it, and the era of that old handheld has long passed.
Pretty much unintentionally kept up with all of TGC's games at random points, and Sky is no different. Stumbled on yet another gem of a game, no regrets or flaws to me whatsoever.

I'm miffed about this.
Journey for PC has been out since last July or something, and people to this day are still having matchmaking issues or barely seeing anyone ever. There are sound bugs; there are bugs where certain things don't happen properly (usually music transitions but I've had things like ||war machines randomly popping out of the ground and snagging me on my way down that hill at the end of the underground despite them being nowhere near me||). I've met 4-5 people MAX since the release; I've never had a connection last the entire game, and Annapurna has only responded to 1-2 people as far as I know about the matchmaking, saying it's a bug but not saying when to expect a fix..
.. aand now it's coming out on Steam when it's not even fixed? Feels like a slap in the face after buying it twice to play with my bf and not being able to connect with him when we're in the same room. No thanks; I hope it's free, because I'm not the only one who's had problems like with it for so long, and until they're fixed people should hold onto their money.

Whatever the terminology, the fact of the matter is that they (Annapurna) have got the gall to charge people anywhere from 15$+ (That's the US EGS price; I doubt it'll be much cheaper) for a broken game that isn't able to live up to expectations because they don't bother to fix core game mechanic bugs and bugs that could break the game. People are all "Oh yay Journey I can finally play it on PC" and it sucks because while some people are going to have fair experiences with it (as people have had successful connections and others just never have and we don't know why) most people will be disappointed and that's really sad :/
Journey meant a lot to a lot of people and it's depressing that the company in charge of sharing it with people who never got/couldn't afford a playstation 3/4 are so nonchalant about the quality of the PC ports.

It's a beautiful experience! Unrelated, I used to have the birthday-pack Journey skins for Minecraft on PS4 (same console as I played and 100%'d Journey on), but a Minecraft update overhauled the skins and main menu UI and removed it all permanently. Just had a discussion in Sky and we were talking scales of things...
Which bought us onto Flow, there are no real frames of reference, I guess you could say manta, jellies etc. but the game also has a feel of existing as a microbiome.
But I always used to like thinking of the creatures in Flow as being huge, like each point of light as a star or galaxy with its swirls.

I hardly ever get spotted these days, but it took a while to learn the warmachines' paths in that area.
The first one is easier, because it only has one path. The second one patrols a larger area, so you need to hide twice.

Not quite. On mobile devices you use the screen in a similar way to Sky, but it can be a little confusing since you can’t fly as such.
I personally find it easier to play on PS4 with a proper controller.

For anyone interested: it seems they finally fixed the conection issues of the PC version of Journey.
Although now it probably worth waiting for a Steam release (which'll be on 11 of june), because if it won't have crossplay, I expexct that Steam version will have more players, than EGS one.

For every full playthrough you get an embroidery on your cloak, 4 it's the maximum! So when you meet a companion he can see from your cloak that it's not your first playthrough! The first area it's called chapter select, you have all the portals unlocked there after a full playthrough, so you can choose any level to jump in from there!

Journey is a really pretty game with lots of amazing graphics and sounds, but i do think the price is pretty high for a game that you can really only play for 1 hour.
The game was designed to be played in a couple hours, about the length of a movie, but many, many people have replayed the game plenty of times
You may be able to get to the end of the final level in a short amount of time, but the game is less about getting to the end and more about what the player experiences along the way. It is more than worth $5

Theres symbols to find (think children of light) and when you get all of them you get the white robe. It comes with a longer starting scarf (think your energy levels) and auto recharges when you touch solid ground

A single run of Journey if you know what youre doing can take 45 minutes (my runs are about that anyway) all symbols can be found in 1 run. But the replay value is really down to personal taste

Hi so I played journey months ago, and just realized why playing sky feels so familiar. 😅 Took awhile to make that connection. Anywho, what other tgc games would you guys recommend?

I played sky first... then I played journey... and while I love sky, the art and the subtle abstract is amazing in journey. I'm sure the way I interpreted journey is different but I loved it. Sky is more literal but journey has some amazing scenes and music. Ps. I love that we had our own names and calls 💙 thank you TGC !

yup they made flow, flower and journey
tgc was one of the few companies that managed to go from flash games to console to mobile successfully
tamago2474 on youtube talked about them in his video about that subject topic i just mentioned
i didnt know sky and journey were related until i watched the video, but the art styles are similar and the game play is as well so makes sense
i rmb seeing gameplays of journey when i was younger and being rly intrigued, my parents never let me have a console cuz they said "it would fry my brain and i would not do well in school"

Basically the land is ruled over by robe people, they had a good time making crops and simple stuffs
Until they found le cloth power which they used it to create technologies.....cloth technologies?
The land is at it’s best cuz they use cloth power to improve so quick
But nothing is endless
Cloth went limited and robe people fought to have more of them
So they made weapons aka guardians to commit boom boom boom each others
So many people die from the war(s)
But in the end they died of starvation cuz land is ruined and they can’t make crops anymore
That’s the history I guess-
But idk if we saved the world or not in the game-
