So Iāve realized a problem with getting the pass. On my switch and computer Iām able to manage my own money, but my parents bought my phone for me when I was younger and as such itās still monitored by their account, and they have to approve all purchases. In other words, I need to explain to my dad that Iām spending money on an in-app purchase, since he has to confirm the transaction. The thing is, when I told him about this game I had to spend maybe an hour trying to convince him it isnāt some sort of giant scam to steal your money, and that a lot of the people on here are being genuinely kind and not trying to manipulate everyone else. So Iāll probably lose all respect from him if I try to get a season pass, even though itās much better than paying $80 on splatoon (which he has no problem with lol)

Moss that's a conundrum, but more so a generational one than specifically this game, I think. Parents at this moment in time largely don't have as much experience with IAP and therefore don't have the clearest conception of different values of different IAP. You can try reminding your dad that maybe he played video games in an arcade and pumped quarters into those machines like there was no tomorrow. Or that you see a movie for $15 and that lasts 2 hours, whereas a season pass lasts 45 days, plus permanent items in your account. it's also through app store, so there's a legit way to contest charges through apple if there's ever a problem.
And lastly, you can make the argument that TGC is a small, independent studio that has made other beautiful and well-respected games like Journey, and they deserve some financial support from players for their hard work.

And also lastly @sterile flame if you have an allowance or job, i.e. money of your own, then you should appeal to reason with your father: It's my money and spending it wisely or foolishly is an object lesson I have to have on my own. here's an interesting thing: I had heard some people say that "dark dragon" aka krill quest wasn't always awarding when you got spotted and I thought "nonsense..." but...
it just happened to me and I realized why:
I was in the middle of the "relive spirit" quest and got spotted on purpose, trying to kills 2 birds with one stone
and I couldn't get it to award. as soon as I completed the spirit quest, the krill spotlight triggered the award.
SO, you can't stack active quests.

@compact garnet I think you can, seems like the consensus is that you need 230 seasonal candles to get everything, there are 36 days left and you can get up to 6 candles per day, plus you get 20 candles when you buy the pass, which would give you 236 in the end. But yes you'll have to make sure you get all of the candles
Don't forget that you also need hearts to get some (most?) of the seasonal masks

Oof, yeah, it can really be a challenge with other players. I think itād be easier either with a friend or by yourself. If there are two, yeah, one person can babysit the flame when the other needs to run and hide from the spotlight
