Heya how does the medal thingy work ? I got 2nd place for my 1st crab race because a guy was flying around and now it keeps giving me silver even if I'm first 🤔

Why is it that it's impossible to get Gold or Silver unless there's 3 or 2 players in the games respectively? We have no control over whether or not people join or if the game even properly instances us with other people. Instead of giving a medal based on your rank out of X people, shouldn't it be based purely upon your absolute rank? 1st should be Gold always, 2nd should be Silver always, 3rd should be Bronze always.

I'd really like to give my spirit gold medals everyday, but asking me to do each game up to 10 times just to find enough people is unreasonable. I'm pretty sure it worked this way in 2024 as well, and I'm surprised with all the complaints / feedback TGC received about the event, this behavior with medals wasn't among them.

In other words Gold is impossible if there aren't at least 3 players at the end of the race. This happened in 2024 as well, where you could have Gold with 3 players, and then if the 2nd or 3rd place player left before all players finished and ranks were tallied, your Gold would turn into a Silver.

I think it's roughly 20 days but with the friendship system it may help a bit more. You would have to do dailies the rest of the season though. Since there's 4 spirits and 3 Ultimates, you could probably prioritize the 1 or 2 you really want as well.

We don’t know for sure. The tournament seems like it might be synced with the olympics, so every 2 years rather than every year. And then typically items remain available when an event returns, especially since these were based on designs from the first event, but we can’t be 100% sure

With the new Spirit Friendship System, they also lowered the Season Candle prices of dyes and spells, so it's not necessary any more to basically be there from the start with a Pass to get everything! (though maybe there was a TINY bit of leeway before) You can start now, do the dailies every day and spend 30 minutes with one of the Spirits following you, and you'll be able to get everything!

You can even put off getting the pass as a result of these changes until the last day, when you're sure you'll be able to get the Ultimate, and the only thing you'll miss out on is the 1 extra candle per day.

I would recommend doing the math now and getting the pass if the ults you want are still possible, since you missed some weeks those extra daily candles will matter

If you want to get the Season Hearts, you should still have plenty of time to get everything while skipping the dyes and spells if you:

Spend 19 days with Champion
Spend 18 days with Pioneer
Spend 12 days with Light Scholar
Spend 10 days with Light Catcher

That's 59 days. There's 77 days in the Season, and I think we're only on Day 15.

Based on my math, I should end the Season with 203 extra candles with the pass. So of that Fuyuha missed 15 days... times 6 + 30 from the pass, that's 120. That gives them an 83 candle buffer. They could still wait until the end and only miss 62 more candles, but they have to start doing the dailies as soon as possible.

I've actually seen a case of a woman who has extreme social anxiety who uses Sky as a safe place to overcome her fears, by putting herself in situations where she's going to have to be confronted with these "Shadow People" which is how she views strangers. By lighting them and seeing that they're similar to her, she quashes the fear and subconsciously makes the connection that strangers aren't scary "others", but people just like her.

You don’t have to light people but definitely still help out. I have social anxiety like extreme and it takes a second to light other people idk that’s just my opinion. It’s a social game and people are bound to want to see what you look like or thank you for the help. It’s a social game after all. You can have days where you don’t want to interact and you can play when you’re feeling up for interactions

I feel like avoiding people entirely and refusing to interact and just focusing on one thing is what is making the Sky community feel so…idk empty and not socially the same anymore

Probably due to animation limitations, it could break typical skykid animations when the shoes are worn all the time. The snowboard is sort of optional thing, you equip it when you want to do that thing for example

When snowboard was first introduced in game, it actually broke the jumping animation for typical skykids for a quite bit back in 2023

At that time it was harder to do the fire trial jump trick around the time the snowboard was first added

Bluetooth is convenient but it requires more battery for phone and the headphones

like i dun wanna bother making always sure that my headphones are charged
i like being able to just reach out to them whenever and not worry about them running out

also yes you can have more distance to your phone if you use Bluetooth but that also starts eating away at the sound quality

a lot of the animosity around the tournament when it first debuted was however the scoring worked, it made team Forest stay in the lead for the entirety of the event

but now that we can choose our teams everyday, there's little to no chance of such a strange scoring mishap happening again. so we should be able to enjoy the event properly this time around!

as someone who was assigned team Forest and was legitimately trying to score points, it was awful to come into the server and see accusations of hacking towards people on that team in general...

the event is not pure snowball throwing:
it's based on the biathlon, which is skiing + shooting

you have to slide down the slope first, then arrive at the target range
(watch out for the boats while sliding down!)

some differences from snowball minigame:

• time limit: 2 minutes (inclusive of both sliding and shooting)
• you can't hit targets from behind
• there's no 'stealing' other people's targets
• no moving targets that reward 2 points instead of 1
• 20 targets in total
• all of them are the same size and shape, quite big too

getting all 20 targets is very doable
the true test of skill is how much time you have left after getting all targets
(also acts as a tiebreaker for determining positions)

also utilizing the caller doesn't require you to slow down, you can do it while flying by and keep going

also was nice when we joined praire peaks and it was nighttime, turning the torch on allowed us to see the exit to the cave which was far too dark

also went to eden and the ability to light yourself back up, and ignite the altars is very very helpful

it does go out a lot in eden because of the water, requiring you to store it and grab it again often

very good tool, situationally better than the snowboard.
not so great in forest because of the rain, and in areas where most of the wax source is darkness - but when there's a lot of candles to ignite it's very good, and the passive light regen is definitely a big benefit.. a lot slower than light props, but mobile
