£16 for a prop is ridiculous, is that just me?

Even the "free" stuff costs hundreds of candles which is going to push people to just buy candle packs - who has the time to grind the game that much?

Whilst I appreciate the overall ambience of the season (the area is very pretty and nice to hang out in,) the conpicuous greed has genuinely put me off playing the event

Sky Kid Momo has a great video on this, on YouTube. This is a master craft run, 😂. I finally finished it after 2 months. I also went into it knowing that I had to go back to Eden. Winged light runs can be very quick. I decided to just forgo hiding and let the krill hit me. 5 winged light, hahaha small price. This game besides journey I find relaxing . I won’t do that spirit again, on purpose. To each their own. This is just me.

I know its consistent with the other IAPs and I have an issue with the cost of previous events too, but I think Days of Bloom is taking the mick a little - its the first time I've seen the majority of an events items be this expensive. Most are IAPs and the rest cost so many candles its clear they're trying to get people to buy candle packs for them or grind 24/7, so youre basically buying them as IAPs too. I just think it's kinda gross to have people spend 20 quid on a cape when you can get entire games for that money

Simply put, they can only pay the bills when someone puts dollars into their shop. If they can spend a little bit of time and get a whole lot of money, that frees up dev time for bigger projects. If they see falling revenue from people not buying stuff, they will naturally take that feedback and make something different or make the next set of items cheaper (or maybe bundle candles or something to try to up the apparent value).

With any free to play game is that they are only funded when people feel the IAPs are worth the money, and the feedback loop is simple: more people buy more expensive stuff, TGC will keep making more expensive stuff. Simple as that.

If we are priced out of the items, there's not much we can do besides not buy and provide feedback.

The other aspect to TGC is they don't use loot boxes, so their prices are naked to be critiqued. With other free to plays they use a currency in the middle to mask the true cost of items so it's harder to get angry about.

My problem with the umbrellas is it's hard to share with friends 😦 I'd enjoy an umbrella which protects the people holding my hands as well as me. I think that would make them more socially interesting which is what this game is all about.

For the new mechanic it seems to be triggered when jumping from most any tall height over water. Just stand at an edge over water and jump, letting the jump itself take you over the edge instead of moving forward. Your skykid also has a chance to dive hands-first in a more traditional pose. Folks have been testing it out but it appears to be random which one is picked.

The krill is part of the first season quest. It will cause your light to go dark, but you won't lose winged lights from it. After you get through it, you wont have to do it again.

Honestly I think most players never truly get everything. You have to really think about what you really want and save candles. You have to get out of the mindset of getting everything, or else you'll let so burnt out with Sky. (Doing full candle runs every day will kill your live for the game fast.)

Skip more than you buy honestly, it is harder to do that before your closet is more fleshed out tho.

I don't get literally everything, that's what I mean. But I DO want all four capes from bloom, seems nice and worth it (given that I get 60 converted candles after season end)

Before Enchantment, I used to do complete CRs every day— Office was a substantial percentage of Vault’s candles back then. There weren’t nearly as many things to buy with IGC before the TS system was introduced.

I do think that the Skyconomy has become trapped in an inflationary cycle— people wanted the realms to have more candles then went on exhaustive CRs to get them all; TGC tried to discourage CR burnout by introducing the chevron system but also started increasing the IGC pricing to balance the increased candle supply. Vets who don’t need anything from TS except buffs have a huge IGC backlog which was mostly used for friend nodes and event swag; event tickets are intended to equalize access to event swag but are also creating another IGC that needs to be farmed.

idk, I have the vague subjective sense that event and even seasonal stuff used to be regarded as having a few special items to mix with the base-game cosmetics, but now there’s a common mindset that Real Players need to have All The Things. I go through phases of wearing mostly base-game stuff as a form of pointless protest, unless it actually makes people think twice when an apparent moth goes past them and they see 12 stars on that brown starter cape.

Depends on what you wear, I find it really good, because I usually wear thick costumes, so it matches but if you wear slim costumes you won't like it that much imo

the internal servers used to test things and the server for beta and the live server are three different entities and all react differently so even if they prepare everything, stuff can still break

being able to get up to 25 white candles a day, with the daily quests counting? that's really appealing for some players
