no problem but as far as the characteristics of the krill and the hive id say they both have an eery and spiky yet deprived of nutrients kinda look. if anything i would keep the build of the character you are drawing as is. Build the armor on that and in the segments between the armor make skinnier to give the illusion of the deprived and eery look of the krill.

@cosmic plover I sketch, then line and get the base colors. I think it’s my shading techniques make the different.
First, define the light source and the shadow. Pick a color darker than the base, then press on the shadow. Decrease the opacity of the brush. Then colorpick the color blended by the shadow and the base, keep doing that until it’s evenly gradient. Don’t use Blur. You will have the texture.
But for the skin, I use AirBrush. My skin base is dark, and then I add lights on to it.
Then, pick the light source’s color. Keep the hue, but change the value (light/dark) of the color. Lower the opacity, then add some hue onto the shadows and the light parts.
I use 2 layers for each color, 1 base and 1 shading.
