Hello ~ Chat I drew a reference sheet of my sky son Mantis

I really just wanted to design my own cape and stuff for his canon look even if not possible to achieve in game, and I had a lot of fun doing it! Though i'd love to thank @dusty pine for designing his hair for me since I was so stuck on what to do ❤️😞 I think if they hadn't helped me it wouldn't look at good as it does now 👀

the back, proper cape part is more or less shaped like the normal cape ish, but the front panels overlap on top of that making these sort of front facing slots for the arms to go up through while the torso stays covered in warm fur 🙂

#

that said i couldnt figure out for the life of me how that neck ruffle is supposed to work just purely from a fabric construction point of view

#

unless you’re meant to put the whole cape on like a t shirt which,,, is still quite adorable.

I’ve had this idea in my head for awhile

so the fox mask my kid wears
I got to thinking and liked the thought that the mask is something that’s been passed down to all the daughters of Tofu’s lineage. Each generation is tasked with protecting the world from the spirit trapped inside the mask. The spirit, named “Mizore” wants nothing more than to engulf the world in her flames and consume all its light

The masks’ wearer is tormented by Mizore as she tries to weaken their minds so that she may take control and wreak her havoc.

@half belfry just keep practicing! and you can watch/read art tutorials about concepts like color theory, perspective... or speedpaints to get ideas of how someone might make their sketch become a full drawing. This is what I’m trying to do to keep learning too.

a suggestion for you on what to work on next is even line strokes, making light and even strokes and building up to those darker strokes. ^^ nice work on all the shapes

I’ve been trying to see if I can improve on my origami sky kids, I’ve thinned up the legs and made them with softer shoulders, added the scarfs I forgot about, and I’ve been trying to do different heads, I was going for the vault headdress on the left, not sure what’s going on with the one on the right....
