I personally think we should use the tehnologia! at our disposal for greater good - Twitch allows setting a limit of used redeems per stream per person (example - CerberAktUaLLy does it with her regular confetti, only 2 per chatter for the stream, but her "premium" confetti stays limitless), so we should let a limit for points-for-highlight to 2 or 3 per stream per chatter, and make the price a bit cheaper - at least in line with the toggle redeems or possibly lower, like 15-20 thousands - still steep enough, but not inaccessible by new viewers in ~15 streams with high activity and evilGamba, or by gifting for points

This is not necessarily tied to doing something with bits' highlights or any other ones, this is a different matter - making points' highlights more responsible to use for old guard with hundreds of thousands of points while also letting more newer people in, could also implement a "premium" highlight redeem for 100k points for big guys so they can bypass their limit and such if they feel it

UPD: Could also institute some general guidelines for the meaning of the highlights overall, which would improve their quality and give timeout reasons (and eventually even bans for dentge people) for mods for misconduct

thinking a global cooldown is a good idea if not outright limiting how many each chatter can send a stream, even for bits. if thats implemented a queue / cooldown timer would be neat too but i can see the cd having another problem where as it hits 0 people rush to get their message in, but that's just my opinion.

Global cooldown always gets rushed by people, seen that with Kumi streams, not even a chance with bigger community like this one

generally the issue isnt points redeems, it's oilers with bottomless pockets making infinite bits redeems just to say petpet neurosocute petpetevilsocute or some shit like that

yeah decent solution, constant inflation of redeem price does kinda make it shitty to try to get a points redeem in, tho i think the redeem should be limited to 1 per chatter if the price would be reduced in this way

I've genuinely never used the highlighted message feature because I'm concerned that I'll somehow mess it up and lose channel points that I collected over a long time.
