Have you ever switched from Twitch stream to YouTube and thought the comments are kinda... empty?
I DID
So I made a browser extension that makes use of 7TV API and brings ALL SWARM EMOTES, displaying them in the YouTube comments. With this extension you will be able to see and type all your favourite emotes into the comments for everyone with the extension installed to see.
Now let's get to the facts.
What it DOES have:
-
Autocomplete
Full autocomplete triggered with colon (:) to prevent typos and speed up typing. -
Emote picker
Makes use of already existing emoji picker YouTube provides and adds a category for Swarm emotes, making it easy to find forgotten emotes or search for specific ones. -
Emotes excluder
At some point you might stumble upon emotes that are annoying to read outside of Swarm community, hence there's a system allowing you to add emotes you want to exclude from displaying in the YouTube comments. -
Emote resize
Highly doubt the current emote size is going to annoy any of you, yet for the peace of mind there's an option to resize emote size to your liking (from 1-4x) -
Swappable Emote Sets
In 7TV ecosystem, each streamer has their own emote set. If you don't want to use Neuro-sama emote set (for whatever reason), you are able to switch to a different streamer's emote set just by typing their Twitch username. ||NOTE: This function requires Twitch Authentication(read-only, optional)||. More info on the GitHub page.
What it DOES NOT have (yet):
-
Native Twitch Emotes(RESOLVED IN 1.24)
~~This extension focuses on the 7TV emotes since it's easier to use and doesn't require Twitch login. If enough of you will want the native Twitch emotes as well, I will try to work on it.
~~ -
YouTube shorts support
While the emotes are displaying correctly, YouTube shorts uses different structure which prevents Autocomplete or Emote picker to work correctly. -
Non-Chromium browsers support(RESOLVED IN 1.13)
The extension currently supports only chromium based browsers. The support for Firefox and Safari is planned in the future and I will make sure to push it as soon as possible.
KNOWN BUGS:** (RESOLVED IN 1.13)**
I am already aware of Autocomplete and Emote picker not working in the replies (emotes are still displayed correctly), fixing this is my current goal and will update the extension as soon as possible.
Setup?
No setup needed. Simple plug-and-play, works on installation.
That's about it for the introduction, if you want more visual introduction you can check out the GitHub page for the extension at the bottom of this post.
For the installation you can click the link from Chrome Web Store and install it directly into your browser from there.
Now go and do what SWARM DOES BEST. CONFUSE THE NON-EXTENSION USERS WITH THE POWER OF EMOTES

over on FF ty
with the login. I wanted to keep the login optional but I guess this MIGHT be the end for that
with developing V3 voice

Might want to implement that in future in case something like Neuro Awards today happens again
