#About the yellow lava lamp discoloration… was it ignored as not important or was it unavoidable?

If there was some reason the liquid or wax had to be the way it is, and a side effect was the rapid discoloration, I personally think that’s fine, but the response from Juniper support didn’t indicate that. It was essentially: “We knew about this before shipping, it was expected” without any further explanation. For an appearance defect that in some lamps is pretty major(Some are extremely yellow) that is a lackluster response.

We spent a while brainstorming in the hardware thread and looking at other similar lava lamps with white wax, and from what I saw other lamps did not have this issue, or at least not so quickly. A similar lamp with white wax(no heating element it had a bulb) had an advisory that the water becoming stained was possible especially if the lamp overheated or was left in sunlight, however this is not the case with the Neuro-sama lamp. It requires no exposure to sunlight and even moderate use quickly results in yellowing.

I would personally like an explanation from Vedal or juniper one on if this was something with this specific lamp, the heating element system or whatever, that made the discoloration a compromise that had to happen, or did they simply ignore the yellowing because it had little effect when the lamp was on.

If it was ignored I am somewhat disappointed as it makes displaying the lava lamp harder. It cannot run all day and when it isn’t running you are left with a jar full of strange yellow liquid, and on some lamps(including one of my own) the yellowing is so extreme that it has an effect on the lighter colors that the lamp can show.

Otherwise I am quite happy with my lamp but this issue is bothering me.

Edit: juniper response I am referring to #1432287162753351802 message

in one of the dev videos a while back vedal explained that the neuro lamps get hotter than normal ones.

they had to change glass manufacturers and such because the change from room temp to hot was faster than other lamps and it could cause the glass to crack.

theres also the ability for the lamps to change colour quickly because of neuro, and app connectivity.

basically a whole bunch of heat is making the wax yellowy
