This game, Oxygen Not Included, is made by the same people who created Don’t Starve and Don’t Starve Together.
I’ve mentioned it before, but to summarize: what is this game?
I’ve played it a lot, and in the context of making this mod for Neuro, the best way to describe it is:
“The human condition vs. human ingenuity.”
It’s a space colony simulator where you, as the player, take the role of an AI managing 3D-printed humans (called Duplicants) controlled by brain chips.
Your goal? To keep them alive.
And as the AI, you can even time travel — by saving and loading, of course.
- What Does the Mod Do?
This mod gives Neuro control over her own schedule, work priorities, and current tasks.
She also receives extended data about how she’s doing and where she is in the colony.
- Why Is This Funny?
Remember that part about “the human condition”?
This game doesn’t just simulate hunger — it includes everything:
Going to the toilet
Managing stress (or facing the consequences!)
Emotional breakdowns: vomiting, crying, lashing out
Overjoyed reactions
And, of course, the constant need for oxygen.
So, giving an AI like Neuro control over all this is both ironic and hilarious.
- Why Is This Interesting?
It kind of reverses the roles of Vedal and Neuro — now he is the AI and Neuro is the human.
It’s also the closest you can get to putting an AI into a human body inside this game.
So it’s not just fun — it’s conceptually fascinating.
- What Else Could Be Added?
Here are some other mods I recommend to go along with it:
Carousel – Spins your Duplicants around and around… until they might vomit.
DSGM – Lets you set stats at the start of the game.
Dupes Cuisine which gives COOKIES(Frost Cookies to specific)
If you use DSGM, you’ll probably want a custom skin. I’m not entirely sure how it’s done, but it works with the Duplicity mod.
