#Swarm Sync issues
1 messages · Page 6 of 1
so I don’t know why but when I connected the lamp to this app all my problems went away
See if it works with this one
Do i just have to use this app instead of swarm sync?
for the moment not forever
Also I do i have to sign up or can I just be a guest
If it connects just fine then you have a temporary solution
So looked over the pins messages like I was told before but still don’t know what’s wrong I keep getting this error messages, but when I connect on the tuya app it seems to work properly
So before this it connected just fine but swarm sync wasnt working despite being able to turn it off and on. And so now It cant even connect to my wifi despite having dualband
Tried connecting with a hotspot?
Try connecting using a hotspot instead
is it just me or did swarm sync just die for anyone else
yeah it died for me but I reset the slider and it works now
I also had to turn the power slider on
instead of just using swarm sync
For me the lamp didn't turn on by itself yesterday and today, and it also turned off 30 minutes ago, not sure what's the deal with that.
It worked after I manually turned it back on.
probably had something to do with the internet issues ved was having
Idk wat this means but its synced so it should be fine
Anyone actually have zero problems with the lamp?
I keep having to reconnect it
If I leave it alone for a few minutes it says unknown error reaching device. Regardless of if I'm using my wi-fi or hotspot. I have to reconnect it to change color and then it stops working again after some minutes and I have to re-pair it.
I can sync it, but it in a way unsyncs shortly after and I have to re-pair it, then repeat. So I cant use swarm sync feature or turn it off. I have to pull the plug or re sync it and then turn it off, but i'll just have to re-pair it later so I just pull the plug to turn it off, which sucks alot.
yeah I have this exact issue, haven't found a fix sadly
For me, the app works perfectly fine for controlling the lamp (Fairphone 5, Android 15, RT-AX88U router with a mixed 2.4/5 network). Initial pairing did give an "might not work" warning, but it was perfectly functional
0 problems other than the piss
I also have a 2.4/5 network, which didnt work at first. I changed it to 2.4 it worked, then same issue. Changed it back to 2.4/5 and now it "works" again (but with the issue mentioned in my last message).
Hey folks, Im having a lot of trouble with initial pairing, havent gotten it to work even once, ive tried many of the steps others have tried ie: Sync button, 2.4gz band, and even the Tuya app and im not getting anything to connect. I would greatly appreciate assistance ^^
Does the lamp flash red when turned on?
It turns green when plugged in, it only flashes red when placed into pairing mode
Go in to settings and do resync device list
I cannot get my lamp to connect to my 2.4ghz wifi
I can get it to sync to the app v 1.0.2 on Pixel 8 Pro running Android 16
the phone is also connected to the same wifi when trying to connect the lamp
so for the first time since getting my lamp I am free of eduroam and I am trying and failing to connect. I keep getting a "fail to connect to router" (tuya error code 4), even if I use my iPhone hotspot
and i control it through the tuya app, even with my blueooth off. i am also able to control it on the swarm sync app, where it says I have no wifi
Go in to setttings and click to resync device list if that doesn’t fix post logs, note that without wifi it will not sync to live stream
it didn't work. my wifi might only be 5g so I tried to do it on the hotspot, but I got the same error message regardless
Are u able to split your network to 5ghz and 2.4ghz
no. is it possible for me to use my hotspot?
Has anyone had to unplug their lamp to move to a different room? Does this reset the sync? I dont wanna have to go through that again lol
It shouldnt
Hotspot should work
can you turn off the check device status mode, then do a full log out + close/open app + log in + try to pair + change color and copy those logs?
As long as the lamp hears the same wifi, it doesn't care if it is moved
just to be sure this is the latest update, since you mentioned you mightve had it for a while cause of eduroam issues
also you didnt turn off check device status or log out from what i could tell
I believe it is the last update, I look in the app store and it doesn't give me an option to update. I think I logged out, I clicked the button "log out" that is right above the "delete account" button, and then I resynced the lamp. I don't believe I ever had "check for lamp status" turned on, and it was off before logging out and after logging on.
"resync the lamp" as in "unplugged the lamp three times fast until it turned red"
Here's my logs after doing a log out, close app, open app, and try to connect to wifi again
im confused one of your original messages, you said it worked on your pixel? but isn't on your iphone based on your image is that right? have you tried with a hotspot or tuya app and see if those connect (on the not working device)
you're good i misread part of the logs, so on this same device you're able to pair and connect to the lamp and control it with bluetooth disabled on tuya, but doing it in swarmsync it doesn't connect? did hotspot have any success?
I don't own an iPhone and my mobile plan doesn't allow me to do a hot spot. I haven't tried a Tuya app because I never heard of it
try it out and see if you're able to connect with that, it's the lamp manufacturer app so its a good sanity test. it has a bluetooth and wifi mode so make sure once it's paired there you disable bluetooth to ensure it's using wifi
I’ve been trying to get my lamp to connect to wifi. I am able to pair up to it and can control the color through my phone, I can’t get it so Neuro can control it. my wifi is 2.4 GHz whenever I put in the wifi name and password and hit continue I always immediately get Tuya error code: 1501 “device not connect” I was able to Bluetooth connect through the tuya app but still no success with wifi
I can't get Tuya to connect over bluetooth
if tuya doesn't connect either it's not a swarmsync issue, normally at that point there's some kind of external issue such as (but not limited to): your wifi being 5G or dual-band (both 5g/2.4g at the same time), which both have consistency issues, your wifi being a mesh network or uses wifi extender (basically you have several "access points" to the network, it's used in very large buildings so have wifi cover the whole thing, or you might have a VPN active on your phone while trying to connect (it can be re-enabled after)
one additional debugging layer is to try and make a hotspot with your phone and use that to connect to swarmsync and tuya, while it's not a good permanent solution it's a way to isolate certain potential issues
I can connect Bluetooth on swarm sync, but not Tuya
I can't hot spot on my phone, not part of my plan. I don't have a VPN. I'm on a single home router that has a 2.4 and 5.0 wifi. I have about 20 other 2.4 GHz only smart devices connected with no problem right now.
So uuh I may have broken the glass vessel of the lamp anyone know of any replacements
do you have another device that can test? it may also be looking up issues relating to tuya devices in general if the tuya app is also failing (they're a relatively popular smart device manufacturer)
hi!!
my lava lamp hasn't been turning on automatically for the past several days. i have stream sync on and i've turned the setting off and on again and it didn't turn on automatically today either.
i'd like to figure out if there's an issue with my lava lamp or if the issue is i'm dumb LMAO
I can't link with my lava lamp now, I didn't notice when it happen. I try reset the lamp and re-link it, The error code is 207028, and the error message is "send device activate info error".
Check out solutions in pinned messages and report back
Go to settings and resync device list
thank you! i was able to solve it and it synced properly this morning and turned on automatically
It show on the list, but when I try to control it, it says unknown error reaching device. And no error code.
Here is log.

Could create a hotspot and try pairing your lamp using that
Still can't link it, error code is 207028
@topaz willow
Download the tuya app and try pairing your lamp with that
It can use, but how to sync with neuro?
I’ll take a look tomorrow as I’m in bed but in the tuya app make sure you can still control it with Bluetooth off as the tuya app can silently be in Bluetooth mode and not wifi mode
The error in your logs is one I haven’t seen before
Is there a problem with the stream sync? My lava lamp only occasionally changes color with the stream, but it reacts instantly when I manually change it.
Sounds like it's working?
Sometimes it is, but not always.
Been having an issue with my lava lamp being paired but not being connected to the internet. Color wheel and on/off function works but when I try and connect it to my WiFi again it gives me “Tuya error code: 1501”. I’ve had issues pairing in the past but moving it close to my router allowed it to pair it just now isn’t connected to the internet. Does anyone have any fixes?
So what happened? The tuya app can control it but swarm can't. So strange.
But if I just use tuya, I can't sync with neuro's color. So how to resolve it? Is there anything I can do? Thank you!
have you tried reinstalling the app at all? there's not much about that error that seems relevant. make sure the app has fine location + bluetooth perms in settings too, maybe there's something weird happening there and the app isn't detected them being off?
Reinstall can resolve the problem, thank you!
For the last few days, my lava lamp has come online at the right time but Ive had to manually turn it off. Please dont say I have to pair it again that was so frustrating... I seem to be the only one with this issue but I havent asked a lot of people.
if its been turning on correctly it's likely still connected to wifi but if it isnt turning off if i had to guess it's either not having wifi when vedal is sending the turn off command from neuro (e.g. using a hotspot that isnt active) or something's wrong with vedal's side (but other people would be able to see that issue
it's not on a hotspot, but its been super consistent. If it didnt come on or off thats one thing but i dont understand why its one and not the other... the first day i turned it off manually i got an error message saying that "the data couldn't send" or something but it worked shortly after that, I havent gotten the error message since but I've still had to do it manually
It's not gonna be used for a while anyway
When power is connected the lamp turns on and stay that way until you turn it off. Which can be a problem if there is a power outage when you are away for example the lamp will stay on until you can turn it off, and the lamp shouldn't be on for more then 10 hours also so..
There should be an option in the app to turn on "do not disturb" mode, which makes it so that the lamp stays off if it was off when the power went out
Uhh
That exists
Called exactly that
It's under show more options
Yes, I meant that. Perhaps I could have phrased it a bit more clearly
Ambiguity of the English language.
wait I'm confused, you specifically said there should be an option
I'm saying it already exists
you're saying yeah you were talking about that option

Yes..... As in "if you go into the app, you should find an option to turn on 'do not disturb' mode". I used should in it's "probable" meaning, not in the "possibility" meaning https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/should
Welcome to "english is confusing"
What they said basically means "I remember there be an option, but I'm not checking right now"
Em
My lava lamp no longer appears to want to turn on
Like at all
Nevermind it was just the extension cord
Anyone's not turn off after the stream today?
Mine is still on
Assuming there was a stream...
Twitch says 3 hours ago
Gonna kill it manually
Ah... Solved it... Problem at my end... Internet had gone off 😆
having an issue with the stream sync
i can manually change the color all i want but when i turn on stream sync it stays red no matter how long i wait or how much the color is changed on stream
i tried unplugging it and plugging it back in as well as re-pairing and spamming the resync device list button but nothing
Hello, I need help I got a new phone and I'm having trouble connecting the Wi-Fi to the lava lamp. I can change the color
But when I try to connect it to the Wi-Fi it gives me error code 105
I use hotspot on my phone for the lamp
Connecting the lamp directly to Wi-Fi has never worked for me.
e
hello, i just want to point out that the app for some reason doesnt register android universal back correctly, lets say you're in lamp layout controlling it, when you go back it should go back to main menu but instead it just exit the app
I know there's a close button on the right up but universal back is the default everyone uses so it'd be nice to fix that
?
