Just a really quick post about this cause I don't think that this is a good game for the twins, especially after the mention of the vision issues and the showcase of how it works today.

Since the main focus of this game is vision and puzzles, with their current implementation it doesn't seem like they will be able to help out a lot. Also there isn't much meta knowledge that they could hint on, like Neuro did during the Outer Wilds stream. I feel this will quickly devolve into a stream where Vedal just solves puzzles and Evil yaps in the background after you get through the easier ones. Which isn't necessarily bad, especially considering how rare a stream like this is, but I feel like it's a waste to use up a gaming stream slot for that.

My suggestion is to hopefully change it to some other game that would fit the way the twins interact with the games better. My personal one is Disco Elysium since it gives the twins agency with the choices, is fully voice acted which lets them respond to the dialogue by themselves and also moves with the pace of your mouse clicks so you can give them as much time to respond as you want. Also forgot to add that the initial idea was made by JustPlaying as a joke so that's also something worth considering xD

I mean it just feels like he read it in NN and said okay, didnt look into the game and the possible content or feasibility with the twins.
Not like he has entire thread made with 100+ game suggestions that he could've looked into.

I personally don't want another 3 or so streams of Vedal fumbling about for about 5 hours each, even more so in a game where Neuro or Evil have very little to no imput in the game, integration, and has no payoff what so ever. The Witness is not a good game to stream in nearly any circumstance, and almost anything else would be better. We're here to watch the twins do stuff and be part of things, not be back seat viewers.

Agreed, this game does not seem like it’d be fun to watch, knowing how outer wilds went (literally hours of Vedal not knowing what to do). Of course, while I do enjoy seeing Vedal play and stuff (rage), I’d prefer if evil were to at least have some input, even if it may not be so impactful. Imo, what made the outer wilds streams so much better was the Neuro integration, which allowed us to have so many funny moments, and unfortunately that aspect is gone with this game.

Softcore Minecraft(something he is familiar with so it requires less braincells) would probably be better drunk. Or any game he doesn't have to learn.

I think Balatro is a much better game, especially if he plans to do it drunk.
It is simple enough for him to be able to interact with it while drunk. And evil can much better interact with it.

So a bit more yap about why I think the Witness isn't a great game.

  • First of all there is no story or anything that you can hand on to during this game. Things game like Outer Wilds or Inscription had that made them interesting.
  • This game is purely puzzles without any hints, dialogues or tutorials on how to solve them. It's all about looking "witnessing" these and trying to understand the hidden rules the environment follows.
  • With their current capabilities the twins won't be much help and one of the best things about Outer Wilds was the integration that allowed them to interact with the world.
  • There is no payoff for the game. It is legit just puzzles and nothing else.

So is it a bad game. No the opposite is true if you enjoy puzzles and the sort.

It just is a bad stream game cause it's gonna end up with the streamer aimlessly walking around for hours until they give up and ask chat for help or have Evil google the solutions.

An alt suggestion is Lingo 1 + 2. It's basically The Witness but word puzzles instead of visual ones. Much easier to involve the twins.

I still stand by everything I said. The only surprises for me was that Evil carried much more than I expected and that Vedal fumbled more than I expected by having the stutter bug return.

Still, her making fun of him was great for this one stream, but if the next 3 (or however much he needs) are the exact same thing then even that is gonna degrade massively.

He should give her access to chat and internet search, or just search. Then she can look up stuff when he's stuck. The twins visual things are still lacking for them to help by themselves.
