#Concerns about the upcoming concert.

In the recent dev stream, Vedal said he still wants the concert to be this year, and I'm going to be honest, this is just not a good idea anymore for this year.

At this point, we're asking people to come to, as far as we still know right now, an in-person event, during the holiday season. We're already potentially running into issues where people may not be able to schedule time off for even a December concert, depending on their occupation, not to mention how impossible it'd be to schedule for any dates earlier than December considering we still don't have a date.

But the cost to travel, even within the US, is quite expensive during the holidays. Some people might be priced out just by this, but we have to consider that we're asking people to also choose to come to this concert for their holiday travels instead of, I dunno, visiting family or any other potential travel plans they might've had.

At this rate, the fear he had about there being few people come to the concert in-person will more than likely still happen, even with the lack of online tickets.

Speaking of online tickets... if we're really insistent on the concert being this year, with no date confirmed this late into the year, then I seriously hope his mind has changed on that. Regardless of it being this year or not, I think that should be an option regardless due to how much non-US swarm there is.

I just think the way it's going, it's going to shape up to be not as big as Vedal wants it to be.

Solid and well thought out points here

And not to mention that having your concert in the US only prohibits a LOT of non-US fans from coming, simply because of immigration over-enforcement, possibility of deportation and the general political climate.
Even one of the biggest artists in the world cancelled his mainland US trip because of whatever's happening with immigration officers.

even ignoring the issue of immigration and fans from around the world, planning travel this close to the actual date at any time of the year is going to be insanely expensive in terms of flights and hotels, the holiday season makes it a lot worse too

#

I sometimes book my travel tickets before the event tickets go on sale, months in advance, just to make sure I have the lowest price

Yeah, to point out an example of something, cons will normally have tickets selling many months in advance. While not quite the same in this case since cons are normally the same timeframe every year, I think this is important regardless

I'm just interested, is getting enough people to actually show up no longer a concern for you? Because one of the things you mentioned when you first revealed it was exactly that, not enough people showing up in person to the event.

And with the current scheduling it doesn't seem like that is being accounted for, it just seems like the concert will be more of a "show up at the concert if you're nearby, I guess" rather than an actual event that people can plan for.

ah yeah I agree

I agree with all points in this thread. Really want to go to the concert from the UK but a 2025 date being announced now makes that seem pretty unfeasable.

I really do wanna make it for the first Neuro concert but I can't. Please just move it to sometime next year.

I hope this is a success. The issues ongoing in the U.S. could possibly pose a problem. I don't want to discuss politics here so I won't say anything further. People come to Vedal and his AIs for entertainment. I don't want to take away from that.

At this point if it's an in person concert that is not directly tied to another event then it would need to be really small, otherwise there's no way a large number of people could travel if it's actually 2025. A small in person venue with online streaming tickets (like a fan event type thing that some vtubers do) would be more reasonable, but it's not really something that would be so exciting for the majority of the swarm (just another 3d vtuber concert for most people).

wait I've cracked the code

maybe we could get a performance at the VTuber Awards this year as consolation?

The production company she used isn't working with her so she would need to get an entirely new company to do it

Not that I think you're wrong, if Mythic helped fund it that would make sense

#

But that would mean we could just host the vtuber awards ourselves in the next Subathon 😉

I mean nothing stopping us from hosting the Swarm Awards. Actually would help visibility and interactivity with other communities. We could definitely use some demystifying after our overwhelming canvas slaughter 😅

Make sense. Seems highly unlikely anything is happening this year then. Maybe Mythic will get another host one day but I doubt it this year.

But def Vedal should test out concert stuff by opening for some other event like a numi or bao thing. Even if it’s nothing new and just 2D or 3D on a flat screen it might make some new fans or perk up a producers ear.

Isn't Shondo Mythic ;)?

Shondo Numi cohost, heh

That would be pretty wild. Idk if Shondo travels much though. They do mocap for it in USA
