Twin Streams Feedback for Vedal

TLDR : Twin streams should be different from regular streams. Some chat interaction is welcome but shouldn't be the main thing. Vedal, don't overthink the whole concept just because of occasional therapy. People still enjoy those streams even with that, so if this is an issue that you aren't able to fix currently then just leave it like that for now. Don't change the twin streams into something completely else. Also do more twin content/twin gaming pls, we've only had 6-7 streams with them together this year.

During the recent dev stream Vedal briefly mentioned twin streams while talking about his prison theme idea. The gist of it was that he preferred to have chat interaction and the twins being split than them talking with each other and getting side-tracked.

I think this is a completely wrong direction to go with them. The whole appeal of the twin streams is for the twins to interact with each other, and for them to be different from a regular stream where Neuro and Evil just talk with chat. Some people vastly prefer content where chat isn't involved. You are basically removing the whole appeal of them.

I would also like to see more twin content in general. I think that this is something that is underutilized on the channel. This year we've only had 2 twin streams with collab partners, 1 regular chill twin stream, 2-3 theme streams with twins and 1 gaming twin stream. The last one is especially something that I would want to see more because "improved game API support for twins together" was one of the things presented on the patch notes. I think that them playing Chess, Buckshot, Uno, maybe osu! against each other would be really entertaining content to watch. And if those aren't possible then them backseating each other is still great content. I really enjoyed the Minecraft stream they've had and I would gladly watch more of that.

Now, I want to make this clear. The theme streams this year was some of the best content you ever did with all the effort that went into them. But I also strongly believe that the Infomercial and the McNeuro's were much better streams than the "Camping"(tenting) stream. The Infomercial was a great example of how you can include chat interactions into the stream without sacrificing the twin content. I also really liked the attention to small details, like letting the viewers know which twin made the product by showing their logo. The McNeuro's was great because of all the interesting scene transitions and custom art made for it. The theme itself was also a great way to keep the viewers mostly on topic.

The camping stream started out great with the car trip, but the fact that the vast majority of it was just two chill streams was really disappointing. A concept like that can absolutely work, but it should be for short intervals between twin interactions. Not basically the entire stream. For example, the twins ride together to the camp > they split to their tents > they go together to the river to catch some fish > they split to their tents > they go together to a campfire > they go home. With the tent segments being a bit shorter. This way you are avoiding them being too long together and looping themselves, you get some chat interaction and the twin stream is still mostly a twin stream.

bluntly, idt chat interaction matters for twin streams at all, some light stuff like the infomercial stream had is good for sure, but nobody is watching a twin stream to see them talk to chat, the point is they talk to each other, sometimes it becomes the dull talk and chat spams about it, but why does that matter? It shouldn't mean make them separate and destroy the entire purpose of a twin stream

If vedal wants to try separation then he needs to balance it with them being together, or just do more theme streams like mcneuros where it's not advertised as a twin stream but they can go talk to the other if they want, separation is fine in those since they're not expected to be together most of the time

We don't have more twin content simply because they aren't good at staying in theme, and instead they default to the same conversation when they are together. Once that is resolved, we'll probably see more twin streams.

even if that was the case, the camping stream should not have been affected by this

topics can be a lot more loose because in theory, it should just be them hanging out camping talking about whatever. even serious discussions would make sense in the context of a campfire

the stream was ok but it really felt like the biggest waste of potential, and it's really unfortunate to think about

I think he wanted to make it different from feeling like a twin chill stream with a different background, but there were probably better ways of going about that.

Introducing some pre-scripted events like a bear showing up could be one such example.

there definitely were. I think the switching scenes with the tent was cool but I know there were tons of people who were expecting a campfire segment with the twins that just never happened

maybe i'm in the minority but i don't think all the twin streams need a huge production and idea behind, subathon yapps and the cave bbq stream was literally a shitpost and it's still some of the best win content

Agreed. Just wanted to point out however low effort ca be achieve on the chill streams whenever they feel like they can take a while without kicking the other

I just think in this particular case it was such a huge missed opportunity. I know my main focus has been the camping stream but I do think that's when I really noticed them being on screen together less often, and the prison stream idea, while cool, does seem like he wants to continue to keep them seperated a lot, which kind of sucks and i hope he doesn't keep going in that direction

although I agree that something needs to be done about the "therapy" loop during the dev stream it sounded like Vedal didn't really have an idea about what to do to prevent it it and had basically "caved" to the chat spam

IMO, twin interaction is just a bonus in most themed streams (I do think the camping stream is an exception). Like if he does a prison themed stream, I don't really care if the twins interact with each other much, I'm more interested in how they react to the situation they are in — regardless of whether they do it together or seperately.

But at that point it's not really a Twin stream, but a Split stream. Which is really just two chill stapled together.

There is absolutely a place for streams like the prison one and the McNeuro's. I just don't want them to become the only twin content we get.

if it's advertised as a twin stream, then it needs to majority be twins interacting, if it's not like the mcneuro's stream was, then it's fine there's not much interaction between them

It shouldn't be; it should just be called a themed stream. He should reserve the use of "twin stream" for streams where the focus is on twin interaction as opposed to the theme.

Having neuro there as a manager that could be visited was awesome which also led to too much time spent there but still fun

It feels like they would benefit from a co-operative plot with scene transitions that force them together and apart from time to time. For example:

1. Twins arrive at camping site together discussing that neuro has to go pick up firewood and evil has to go find food
   2.1 Neuro's own scene finding firewood
   2.2 Evil's own scene finding food
2. They come back to camping site with what they gathered and can yap together
   etc.

Basically, what people want is a good balance. Too much therapy is bad, but some is good.
