Would transitioning Abandoned Archive into a community-driven project help ease the workload on Vedal? By managing version tracking through Git and porting the game to Godot—known for its lightweight structure and collaborative-friendly design—this approach could distribute development efforts more effectively and open the door to broader community contributions.

scrajj Whoot? So your suggestion is: Because vedal doesn't release Abandoned archive, WE do abandoned archive? HUH
Why?

I see where you’re coming from, it’s not about “taking over” the project, but more about offering a possible way for Abandoned Archive to evolve if Vedal doesn’t have the time or resources to focus on it right now.

The idea is that instead of the project fading away entirely, it could be opened up to the community in a structured way, something like an open-source or collaborative fan project. By porting it to a framework like Godot and managing it via Git, contributions could be tracked transparently, and Vedal could still stay involved in a more supervisory or advisory role if he wanted to.

It’s more about preserving potential and keeping the project alive, not replacing or undermining Vedal’s work.

I get you, just three problems:
1- AA is made in Unity. It doesn't matter how "easy" and open source Godot is. Porting a game from one engine to another is no joke.
2- Godot is not needed for "transparency", and he already uses git. If Vedal really wanted to open source his game, he could do so, as is, right now.
3- No matter how much you wanna help in vedal's game due to the obvious shift in importance that neuro and evil are for him, it's still his game...
You would honestly have more chances at helping on his game by asking him a job rather than this.

Yeah, fair points all around. Porting from Unity would definitely be a huge task, and I overlooked that. I wasn’t trying to overstep or suggest taking the project away from Vedal, just wondering if a more open structure could help keep AA from fading out. But you’re right: if Vedal ever wanted community help, he could open source it as-is. Asking directly might honestly be the cleaner route.

Looking back, probably wasn’t the best idea to bring up here, I meant it in good faith, just thinking out loud about ways to keep AA going. Appreciate the feedback though, seriously.

Vedal has said he has some partners with a financial stake in AA. It wouldn't be possible for this to happen without him violating agreements he had with them, I suspect.
