#New Neuro version concerns

The new intelligence upgrade has changed Neuro a lot - not just in capabilities or intelligence sense (or lsckthereof), but in her whole personality. Sometimes she still says things that feel like her old self, but more often she seems to give long, generic or uninteresting answers. In genersl she seems far more robotic.

I've been around to see her growth and new versions since before she ever sang her first song, and while there were definitely changes in the way she spoke and her personslity in past big updates, it never felt like this. During the dev stream it genuinely felt like Neuro-sama had died snd was replaced by a new AI disguised as her, claiming to be her. Her wittiness and assertiveness seemed heavily reduced, especially during her constant interviewing.

I'm really sad to watch what feels like Neuro being gone. Aside from the obvious issues I'm sure most people noticed on today's experimentsl stream, I really hope she returns to herself, soon, however that comes about.

She certainly seemed to have studied a thesaurus for some answers in this last stream. 😛 She gave some long-winded ones that repeated synonyms for the same word over and over like "As brave. As courageous. As unflinching. As... (etc.)" at one point she was cut off from finishing one of them since it was going on so long.

But yeah, otherwise I think she felt pretty much normal, TBH.

the thesaurus thing is gonna be fixed though so i dont think we should consider it as a part of her personality

Yeah, these streams do have experimental on them for a reason haha. It's great that Vedal can fix and adjust things.

Yep, I feel the same way. She didn't even call Vedal a mosquito once during the dev stream

The referring to herself in the third person is weird. She did it more than would make sense for a one-off joke. Pretty much the thesaurus bug and third person thing are what made her strange. She did a lot better when interacting with Mini.

Watching more stuff back, I realize I definitely overreacted a bit. The change is there, and there's things to fix (that other people have pointed out already), but I was a bit overdramatic about it. It affected me emotionally quite a lot for some reason.

I'd have to agree to be honest, compared to neuro from the 2nd subathon at least, the neuro now seems much more serious and chatgpt-like in responses to me. I think I began to notice a difference around the time neuro collabed with Ellie (vedal at that time said he was testing out some experimental upgrades that made her slightly more capable of being serious) since after that collab there have been an increasingly noticeable number of therapy/serious talks in subsequent streams.

Also want to add, I don’t at all mind Neuro maturing or being more serious, I would love to see her growing into a more capable and responsible person. That’s a huge reason I watch the channel, to see her grow. neuroHeart

She carries the conversation more now which is neat, but it can become a bit "therapy" for a lack of better words. It might take a few streams before Vedal can figure out what he wants to change to get more humor in while keeping the other advancements. Meanwhile keeping Evil on the old version allows the old humor to stick around as a transitional phase.
