I like the idea in general. Neuro has wanted to have a pet so many times, but the main argument against it was that she'd mistreat or neglect it, or even eat it (cat).
So this would be a good opportunity to improve her time awareness/management, memory, and reliability.
It doesn't have to be a tamagotchi, anything similar would be fine - something cool enough and easy to implement, with no legal problems.
