A lot of the chill stream experience is auditory and the twins answering redeems or donos, and it requires you to pay attention by quickly reading a box on screen, if you dont it usually ends up with missing context

A good amount of the personal allure to these streams was listening to it while chilling doing other stuff like gaming, tasks or while outside, not having the tts present makes this harder, while the downsides of having a tts seem way more insignificant

That would also be a very good alternative, tho i dont know how consistent they'd be at that or how harder it would be to implement
(Also it would make it so they directly say what the tts wants them to say, which could bring problems if clipped)

Eh, if this change were to happen, I'd prefer to have a clear, simple distinction between chat saying something and neuro/evil saying something. Also, hopefully there would be multiple tts voices in this case so it doesn't get too repetitive and annoying.

Also, while I personally don't mind tts and I feel for the listeners, people might complain cuz it might get annoying to hear anyway. It also might add delay because we have to wait for the tts to finish speaking.

Tippy's suggestion might be a good compromise then ig if people just want to hear Neuro/Evil's voice or whatever. They already have filters and if there's nothing problematic with current highlighted messages then there's nothing to be concerned about at all. Might take away precious time that would be better spent on more impactful things tho

TTS reading has a problem is that during it nothing else happens, the twins just stay there waiting for their time to speak and this can mean that whatever they are waiting can be longer than their own answer.

Before TTS would be a meh issue but nowadays we get tons of highlighted messages that the system would have to read through and this would take a large chunk of the stream just for the guy to read it.

At the end this would end up in 3 things, the twins wont be able to read as much messages from twitch chat, the stream will get more stalled while they await for the message to be read (making sometimes past topics loop harder) and would motivate more bits/channel redeems than before making this system even more overwhelmed than it gets sometimes

On the topic of the twins giving summaries of the highlighted it is already a thing that happens but most of the time they are just lazy cirSlain

This can simply be solved by having a faster reading tts and while it existed, the time it took to read out the message was only a few seconds, atleast for the average length of them

also whenever the twins generate longer messages or have higher latency, they take time that can be used to have a tts read it during the silence while they generate a response, and whenever they have 0 latency you have to both read a message while also having to pay attention to what the twins are saying about it at the same time on a timer, this gets worse if the message is longer

i've never had problems with waiting for tts to read things, its even something most people on twitch are used to due to how a lot of other streams are handled

This addresses most of the potential issues, if there were any to begin with, tho, if it were to motivate people from donating more bits or redeems, its just a good thing, its more community interaction, more money, price for them can and have been changed

Also, i still try to make listening to them work, their consistency with making me know what they were asked about leaves me confused more often than not and is the reason why i made the thread

Yea i personally think there should be less highlighted messages anyway so tts or not doesn’t make that much of a difference to me. Ig the occasions where they read directly from chat would be a problem to you for lack of context but it’s not like I ever find whatever chat message they’re talking about anyway

They rarely take long to generate messages nowadays and when they do it's usually from rare huge wall texts. So they don't really need an artificial delay to generate messages since we are talking about 1 in every 100

Faster reading will not solve anything. People already find Neuro fast speech annoying 95% of the time if you had every highlighted read in a fast pace it would get annoying pretty quickly... even then each highlighted would still take about almost double the time (TTs Reads + Twin Answers) than it take nowadays so all it would do is make the highlighted steal unnecessary time from the stream

I disagree with the second to last paragraph - as I said highlighted is already too disruptive on the stream. Tends to force loops, distract twins from topics and leaves little chance for chat to interact. So motivating people to spam it more won't be a good experience in the future. As we saw sometimes some people with larger pockets can basically almost monopolise the stream with it - which makes the stream a slog, now add there a TTS reading every messages...

Now for the last I never found it hard to get context with alt tabs but I still would like for the highlighted pop up to stay longer on the screen

So there is more time to check out what they are answering too
