Recent 1984-esque changes to Twitch chat: A Question to Vedal.

After seeing the new censorship changes made to the Twitch chat I would like to ask a question to Vedal about how he feel on this matter. I don't remember seeing much about his input on this, so I wanted to know what he though. So I also made a document outlining some of the positives and negatives of this new set of rules for Vedal and others to take into consideration.

I feel like as a moderator I need to say that wall spam has been a problem for a long time, and we had been trying to come up with a solution for it, but it stalled. The original nesus thread just gave us a kick to try harder. After last stream I think we reached a very nice medium on what should be allowed in the twitch chat without being overly obtrusive for the users and not extremely tedious for the moderators involved.

I can not speak for the entire community on this, but from my experience as quite an active chatter, the “spams” are not done for attention seeking, and are mostly to communicate in a more effective way to other chatters, and to have a laugh, bring amusement.
