#Neuroverse 3D models

Progress check on the head
I just got done with the head, now I'm sculpting the body... Yeah, it looks like a BanBan render. I used a different reference for the body because there's no model of a V3 neuro that shows an outline of her body. I've also posted that reference sheet.
I hate sculpting hands as much as I do drawing them. Why is it so hard? It looks like the hands of an old lady. When I'm retopologizing, I'm doing the hands separately.
Why is retopology so hard?
I was going to do more frequent updates, but you can probably guess by the fact that I'm only now just done with the torso, that I had a bad time with retopology.
I was going to do it on my own, but as I was trying, I got a nice reminder that I still don't know what the heck I'm doing. So I watched a tutorial from the same guy who did the body blocking and sculpting tutorial. His name is Bran Sculpts btw. The other person I watched was Kumo Blender. Just thought I should give some credit on who I'm getting help from.
It's so dark right now...
I'm looking at this model rn, and I think I'll need to do some tweaking.
Shift + N just saved my life. If you look at the neck area, the lighting was messed up.
I've gotten done with most of the body. I'm going to do the hands and feet separately from the sculpt.
Here's a view from the back as well.
Are you going to do baked normals? Or are you going for non-lit model?
It's likely going to be a non lit model as it's meant to be in an anime style, but I might try to do a baked model if I can find out how to make the shadows function correctly.
I am currently using a tutorial from Dikko to make the hands.
Lighting for anime models is usually achieved via geometry and custom normals
It's how they fake the 2d effect
That being said, there are many approaches
Oh, ok. I'll have to try that.
Also here's Neuro's hand so far. No apposable thumb although cat's don't have those, so maybe it's accurate.
THE BASE IS DONE!!!
Just some tounge and teeth.
Final update for the day. Can't show the rest because she currently has no clothes, and it seems risky to show her while she has the skin texture on. I'm probably going to texture in underwear tomorrow, but I want to also keep a clothesless texture just in case Neuro ever gets a swimsuit model, because yes, I'm planning on making all of the clothes/hair/accessories as well.
I was not able to draw the underwear today as I was busy, so you still only get head shots. I did, however, update the textures, made the eyes shadeless, and added an outline (Albeit very buggy). I will try to get more work done tomorrow as I'm not as busy.
I FINALY GOT THE UPDATED TOON SHADER TO WORK!!! I used a tutorial by Tawan Sunflower BTW
And here is the model with underwear I promised.
NOW I CAN SHOW THE MODEL WITHOUT GETTING BANNED!!! YAY
So... Uh... Both the eye and underwear texture have been reverted to black...
I think I'm going to leave it here for today. I spent all my energy finalizing the textures, and the hair is too much for me to do in 30 minutes.
Just got done with the start of the hair. I need to do some adjustments. I'm not going to do the pig tails yet as I want to add that when I make the clothes. I don't know if I like the back hair or not. It's another thing I need to eyeball.
For context on the back hair statement. I don't think we've ever been shown the back of neuro's head before, so I need to make it look like how I think it would look.
Also the LIFE animation doesn't count as I'm pretty sure it uses the V2 model as reference.
I made the bow and pig tails.
Added some more detail to the hair. It doesn't look too great but it's going to have a toon shader attatched so I guess it will do.
I am getting really close to finishing Neuro. I just need to finish the clothes and textures, and then all that's left is the rigging.
Ok, here's the deal. I'm going to finish the shirt once I'm done with the rest of the clothes because the shirt itself is asymmetrical, and I'm going to apply the mirror modifier one I'm done.
The models are complete and ready for texturing. I'll add the pins once I do the texturing as I'm planning on adding a 3d effect to the textures similar to what's found in Minecraft.
The body excluding the clothes is fully molded now. I'll get back when I finish the clothes.
I finished the main rig, but I still need to add rigging to the hair and face, but overall, she's pretty much done.
I undid the entire rig because I need to add the face modifiers, and every tutorial I look at tells me to use rigify,
Ok, so, uh... I'll do the rig tomorow. I have never used rigify before, so it's a bit of a strugle for me.
Once I start doing Evil's model, I think I'll just duplicate Neuro's model as a base and go on from there because I do not want to go through the pain of rigging Evil when she already looks similar to Neuro. (I'm going to be going off of Anny's streams and the YT shorts for Evil's design btw).
It looks so good great job
Thanks! I'm going to do Evil after Neuro which shouldn't be too hard as it's just a simple copy and paste for her (Plus some editing). I've mentioned at the top all the people I plan on making into 3d models, although I may add some other people like Cerber or Ellie. Maybe even the Neuro bot.
So rigify treats the eyes like a 3d eye, In other words, there are constraints that make it impossible for me to use the face rig meaning that all the hours I spent trying to add the face rig meant nothing. I'm sorry to say, but I think I'm going to be dry of updates today as well.
I have the rig again, but I want to edit some stuff before doing it.
I'm going to use shape keys for the body, so the progress I made has been slightly reversed, but it's not decently as much as removing a whole darn rig.
I feel like it's better to use shape keys for face and rig for body
shape keys give control, so they're great for faces
but bones don't need as custom a setup as shape keys
unless you mean you are using shape keys + bones
in which case that totally makes sense, ignore me
I've decided to start using shape keys, don't worry
Also, the rig is still on the body as well
Here is the video of me testing the shape keys. It's inifisent, but I plan to make a rig to move the shape keys later in the future.
I did not intend for it to be a download
I am done with the Neuro model, and it is certainly something. I think I'm going to make a few more edits, but other than that, I'm all done.
Currently working on Evil. (I told you it would be a recolor)
Evil is done already. Now I have to make her room, then I'll start on her present from me.
Her birthday is in less than 20 days after all.
Oh shoot, I forgot the eyes.
and eyelashes.
I was busy with other stuff today, so I don't think I can show much. Tomorrow I'll make a lot more progress though.
I won't be making evil's room unless we get a design of her room (Birthday stream does not count), But I do plan to make Neuro and a Anny's room. after I'm done with the models
I'm working on an Evil birthday animation so I'm going to hault development on this project for now. Here's the current scene I'm working on.
You have unlocked new role
biblicaly acurate sassy ai
Lol, yeah. I'm going to remake these models with better weight maps after I finish Evil's birthday present.
so you do phisics? have no idea what else could weight map be used for
It's what allowed the model to move. For instance, Evil looks like this because I messed up the weight map. Luckily I have to move far for it to be noticeable.
ah i see
I was planning on making a present for Evil, but I got sick so it will have to come in late.
I'm also working on a model for Neuro V3! (It's for school too)
That looks really cool! and you actually added detail to the hair unlike me.
And you actually managed to finish yours unlike me
Yeah, but I feel like mine was a little rushed. I want to remake the two models, but I think I'm going to make Anny and Vedal before I do that so it doesn't feel like I'm repeating my work.
Chat, am I cooking?
I was thinking about using the actual Hiyori model to use for the textures to make it authentic to other ps1 games, but I think I'm just going to draw it myself as that actually seems a little easier.
