Migrating the one announcement that we did in the previous thread:

Hi everyone! I'm speaking on behalf of the NeuroFM crew for this one.

We have received some requests via DMs to an individual within our crew, asking if they could help with the project. We appreciate your interest with helping our project, since it tells us that this is something people are looking forward to!

However, we are currently set for contributors to the NeuroFM project and DMing us to express interest in helping makes it hard since we as a group want to make a decision together on who to add as a contributor.

There is a chance we may be looking for more contributors in the future though, so if you are interested in helping us in the future, drop a message in this thread with what you wish to help us/what you are skilled in. When we need more people to help, we will check this thread for names and decide.

Nice! Just FYI, it's always better to ask rather than ask to ask (meaning: simply list the skills you need and ask for those with those skills to drop their name, instead of asking for those who think they could be useful to the project to drop their name without knowing what's needed)

The reason why that announcement was there was because in the past we got DMs from people asking to help us out of the blue

Also, status update on our systems:

• Other/Discord bot: Complete
• Frontend/Landing site: Nearing completion, dependent on some stuff with the radio itself
• Frontend/Neuro Karaoke Archive site: May or may not be about to cross the finish line
• Backend/API server: Basically complete but not entirely?
• Backend/AzuraCast: More or less set up I think?
• Other/Audio library: Should be all fine and dandy
• Other/contact systems: I legit forgot about this for a while, specifically email has been bugging me for a bit for reasons I will not dive into. But it might be set up now, need to double check.

If we were to take Swarm FM as a measure, pretty sure it hasn't been struck yet, but also I think @elder halo (and correct me if I'm wrong, that's why I pinged, sorry) did remove possibly problematic songs from Swarm FM's rotation

I don't know how copyright works exactly for covers, but youtube and I believe twitch too have automated systems for detecting copyrighted songs, and all the songs get flagged by the auto system as copyrighted. And theres a few songs that on youtube where the publisher's policy is to takedown the video or livestream instead of just taking revenue. That was just me adapting to youtube's policy, not copyright law in general.

My understanding is that covers usually fall under fair use though

This is a cover with Neuro in it of the very much still copyright song "Call Me Maybe", and it's on YouTube music, meaning that nihmune is probably not only able to use that song for her cover, but able to make money off of it.

That's what I was referencing, but obviously it's very different for NeuroFM as an MP3 stream vs Swarm FM as a YouTube stream

We're partner projects. Different devs, but we have boop's approval. NeuroFM is going to be different from SwarmFM.

the actual radio itself is working but we haven't deployed the website for the station yet so it's not considered ready yet
