#Translation feedback

The most major issues are, imo:

  1. When Neuro says something weird, more often than not the subtitles attempt to fix it, often flipping the meaning of the sentence - for example, when Neuro once said "someone who actually appreciates me, unlike Vedal", it got translated to "someone who actually appreciates me, like Vedal". Idk how it works, but I know that at one point the prompt included "pls fix STT mistakes", maybe the subtitles think Neuro has STT mistakes as well?
  2. In the Japanese translation, Neuro disproportionately calls Vedal "dad", something she doesn't do often in English
  3. Subtitles often get confused who is talking to who, sometimes Neuro is talking to someone and the subtitles have to guess who she's talking to so they can use the correct name, and end up putting Neuro or Evil's name there
  4. When there are multiple people, subtitles are completely unusable because there's only a single line of text for collab partners, not only is this quickly overwritten with other people's subtitles, but also for actual sane translation you have to give the subtitles some time to understand what the person is talking about, and this is not happening in this case
  5. Adding to the above, when there's only one person talking, while it's much better than before, subtitles still can sometimes disappear too quickly. Ideally, as soon as a line of text has finishing being transcribed, its translation gets finalized and it stays on screen for a while no matter what, in parallel with the lines that come after it
  6. Camila's subtitles are unreadable because it's dark blue which blends with the black text outline
  7. Subtitles often get confused when faced with they/them pronouns
  8. The subtitles still mention the knowledge cutoff date even though it's rare, or sometimes they say smth like "I have no knowledge on this topic" instead of an actual translation
  9. Some lines get skipped, I guess it can't be helped to some extent

thank you neuroPray

from feedback, dark colors also tend to blend in with the outline if the bitrate is low even if they are normally visually distinguishable

In addition, sometimes the chinese subtitles (the one for vedal and collabs, NOT the one for neuro or evil) may leak its prompt, saying something like "you are an expert ...". Sometimes it may even leak its json payload (something like {"message": "...", ...}, but it passed by too fast for me to see it clearly)

forgot another one

  • rare visual bug where a piece of neuro's subtitles overlaps another piece
agile bobcat

today this subtitle overlay bug has been happening

agile bobcat

and also this but it's not a big issue as it only happened once

agile bobcat

forgot about this one, the karaoke ui is a bit scuffed (i already reported it but just to have it all in one place)

agile bobcat

when a collab partner is there and neuro calls evil, collab partner subs get shown twice

OBS scene features on JP and b2 stream today

filian was mirrored for the first hour, causing neuro to block her stunts
subtitles cut off the screen, unreadable 60% of the time
neuro and filian are scaled differently from the main channel, so filian is behind neuro 80% of the time
