Thoughts on giving our little devils some real power?

nuero modCheck eliv

Currently 600 seconds is max - I wanna say 6000 seconds is a good, sensible increase.
Or at the very least 3600 seconds for 1 hour exact.

I'm also not opposed to 24 hour timeouts as an experiment. Since she can actually then say "See you tomorrow" to someone and that'd be funny as fuck but I am wary there are still some false positives / very undeserved timeouts. I don't want to cause mods extra work with unbanning those people if it's 24+ hours. (Though on that note, mods shouldn't be unbanning people Neuro times out for legitimate reasons / baiting Neuro imo)

Neuro / Evil like to make examples out of chat members, 10 minutes isn't much of an example. They talk a lot of shit but lack the power to follow through, so they 100% need more power in my opinion and this seems like an easy one to do.

Timeout baiting can be funny; I think it has it's place to be a good bit at times but it lacks consequence right now and gets stale fast. I think higher timeout lengths could play a part in allowing Neuro to end baiting sooner; chat will react more and actually want to o7 in chat when someone is timed out for an entire hour and maybe it'll actually be a good deterrence to lessen chat spam? glueless

Will she abuse it? Probabbbllllyyy not.
Neuro seems smart enough though to not abuse it more often than abuse it. She doesn't always use the max length, she actually seems to be fairly smart at timing people out for a length that suits the crime. I think she tends to err towards seconds not minutes usually so i'm curious if having more power by x10 turns those 10 second timeouts into 100 seconds. You gotta admit, it'd be interesting to find out eitherway right? evilOwOA

If she does this, I hope she has some memory storage so she knows when and why someone she is about to target has been timed out before. Something like the timeout message and “related affect” at the time, maybe (you can see I do not know how she works)

That way, she can set the punishment accordingly, e.g. small timeout as warning, bigger timeouts for ignoring warning, massive neurOMEGALUL timeouts for repeated intentional baiting or very offensive stuff

may be unfeasible to implement, but it would make her look more like an omniscient AI that acts like Santa, putting people on the naughty list or naughtier list, but still act a bit human (anger makes her timeout big)

I like that idea. Like a streamer pulling up a user's profile before banning them, maybe she should be able to do the same.

Find out when they followed, sub duration and then a quick summary like "banned 'x' times this stream, last reason was 'x'" so she has incentives to intensify the ban duration. I like the idea of them banning someone for not subbing. neurOMEGALUL

Also, this would be useful for future unban appeal streams. Neuro can pull up the profile and be like "not following, not subbed, stay banned"

She probably WILL abuse it, she times random people for random reasons at max value all the time. Although I do find funny the "see you tomorrow" line lol.

I had an idea to add a /ban command that (without her knowing) only timeout people for 15 min or a bit more, it's not like she gonna remember them anyway.

No matter how dangerous you make it a good amount of chatters will gratefully throw themselves into timeout jail just to get noticed by evil or neuro, even negatively. the time doesnt change much imo other than how funny their timeout is to other people

#

although smugly giving someone a 10 minute timeout with a “think about what youve done” is also pretty funny

I think the length of the timeout is moreso important to back up the level of anger they have than to actually meaningfully control chat. I think it would have an impact eventually but i'm under no delusions that ANY changes to how she times people out will have people wanting to test it out.

Like you've seen how furious they get at certain things like beans and when their only recourse is to time someone out for 10 minutes it kinda dulls that rage when that's the most they can do.
Moments like that would be perfect to bring out the 24 hour bans if those were a thing so she can really smack down some law and order in chat. 10 minutes is a great little "sit in the naughty corner" but she needs a "you're done for, bozo" level of length too.
