TLDR
It’s kind of easy to implement Neuro to War Thunder. She can have an idea what’s going on in game and make her inputs without vision.
This will be an essay so please strap in. I’ve wanted to post this for a long time, but my anxiety held me back.
War Thunder has this very neat api called localhost:8111 (very creative name). This API is integrated into the game, so every time you start it, it runs in the background. It gives a lot of data for air battles. I don’t want to list all of them because it would be a long list. I’m just going to drop a documentation here (“state” tab is everything about the aircraft).
So what about it? Vedal could feed Neuro data from this API so she would react to the most of the things in air battles. She could comment on speed, altitude, engine temperatures, events (damage to other players/killfeed).
Now about the CO-OP part. You can do a lot with keybinds in War thunder. Some of them you can give to Neuro. She could be a 2nd pilot and have control over missles/rockets/bombs. Vedal could fly and Neuro on Vedal’s command would do (or not) stuff with weapons. They’d have to work together to be effective.
Now I want to talk about tank battles. API here is kinda useless. It gives only speed of the tank and events (damage to other players/killfeed). Neuro would know if the tank was hit or if they are on fire or if they had destroyed anyone. My COOP idea here was to make it a crew thing. Neuro could have a control over tank, Vedal could have control over gun. Like IRL crews Vedal would have to give commands to Neuro where and how to drive.
