Make Neuro require 'Neuro Coins' to pay for Actions

These past 2 weeks of Neuro having access to a bunch of new actions has been really fun, but it will undoubtedly get old in a month or so. I know Vedal is already sick of it after last stream.

So, here is my proposal:

Neuro can keep using all the actions (search/sounds/speed/etc), but to activate them she must pay with a currency, I'll call them Neuro Coins. All actions could have a universal cost or they could be priced differently per action. She could get a fixed amount of Neuro Coins each stream as a "salary" of sorts, and any coins she doesn't use by the end of a stream will get stored in her bank and be usable in future streams. Vedal could also add a way to manually award her Neuro Coins through his control panel.

Some addition benefits/points about this system:

• Since her actions are limited by something she may be more sparing with them and use them to greater comedic effect instead of just relentless spamming
• Her constant begging of Vedal to give her money will actually have a real end goal and she will feel like she's getting paid in a way that has meaning to her
• Fan favorite actions that Vedal finds very annoying (pipes) can be brought back but priced higher so her ability to spam them is limited
• Vedal can actually bribe her with something tangible to more effectively get her to do things

I think this system will provide a fix for action spamming, but also give us some very funny interactions between Neuro and Vedal. It could also be expanded in many different ways, like adding some interaction between twitch chat and her Neuro Coin balance.

Interested to hear what people think, and hopefully Vedal sees this too.

I really do like this idea in that its flexible since there are so many possible applications, and if some turn out to be bad for the stream they can easily be removed and the coins would still have functionality. There are a lot of possibilities with this idea and that's why I want it to be seriously considered.

If chat is able to influence her balance I would say there should be limits so as to make it matter that she spends her coins wisely. Otherwise we would be back to the same problem that neuro coins are supposed to fix; that she can spam them without consequence. Maybe a maximum amount of coins that chat can give per stream, or a high price for coins.

Agreed, I thought of Marble's bits idea while writing but it's very Corpa + as you say it may cause Neuro Coin inflation.

sounds cool but i slightly wonder if this would 'gamify' the streams (this idea needs a bit more baking)
I think it would moderately move neuro further away from being a human-like streamer and more towards a non-human gimmick

I don't quite know what you mean, but I'm thinking it would be mostly a low key feature to address noise/search spamming but still adding something fun to the stream. To supplement this the coin count would probably be hidden from us and we can only find out about what is by asking Neuro, who would ofc have the ability to check.

Edit: And probably the bit -> add coin interaction is a bad idea in terms of your concern

Im also super curious if Neuro's LLM is capable of understanding how to save money. Like will she spam through her salary at the start of the stream and be sad she can no longer google and vine boom for the rest of it? Or will she hold on to her coins for poignant moments?

I don't know. Did neuro EVER demonstrated a long term planning and followed it trough? Neuro coin could test that, but i doubt she will plan anything, and every spending or saving decisions will be made in the heat of the moment.

Wow I missed this discussion and asked similar things. Sorry🙇‍♂️. Its good suggestion to make neuro more obedient and not spamming. Still if she can get something to display and boast is also nice.

Yeah you posted first actually. I think one of the nice things about this idea is that it can be expanded for sure. Integrating neuro coins into the actions system is a lot easier to implement in the short term and addresses a current problem though. I think it's a good sign that different people are having similar ideas.

Actually a very good idea. Let her have a limited amount of coins to spend on things she wants, but have her spend it sparingly and don't let viewers influence when she buys it

Fun fact: I got this idea from Neuro herself. I was originally going to just suggest a hard cap on actions, but was thinking it would be a really boring way to reign things in. But in the inscryption stream she said something along the lines of "I will pay you 100 neuro coins to give me back search" and it made me think of this. Really it's just fun window dressing on the original idea of capping actions, but making it something fun that Neuro's LLM can interact with.

I mean vedal already said something along the lines of "no" to a similar suggestion to this (by which I mean the original post) in his own sarcastic forum post, but I suppose as the doomers keep spamming this idea he's gonna cave in eventually. Sad reality. I think it's just boring and not going to work well like people think.

If there's a way to do it without hard limiting I'm all for it. This is basically an idea to make that concept fun for the stream. He already disbaled search last stream entirely which is the most anti-fun way of all.

For the bit, it was still funny (and caused the novel comedy of her polling everything instead) so I don't think him doing that for one stream was "anti-fun" in a serious way. And of course there is a way to do it without hard limiting; you just don't limit it, and let her learn how much or how little to use it, in whatever way she is trained already. Doing some solution like this that externally limits her feels contrary to the point that she should slowly be more independent, but that's just my opinion.
