I'm looking for assistance in creating a mod for Inscryption that integrates Neurosama. I have a general idea of what I want to achieve, but I could really use some help, especially in terms of the technical aspects like coding, and incorporating Neuro sama unique elements into the game. If anyone with modding experience for Inscryption or related games could offer help it would be greatly appreciated

Progress update: All of the original 10 cards provided are in the game. See screenshots below (ignore the fact the abber demon is with common cards I fixed that after taking the pic. Also I didn't take a screenshot but I did change pirate evil's art.). As for the sigils, they're a work in progress. I've been working on gaslight and it's like, halfway working. Haven't started on paintbrush. I'm probably going to simplify the sigils a bit, both to make them easier to implement and to make them easier to understand, but they should ultimately have mostly the same effect.
Notes:
-I added Tribes to the cards where appropriate
-I made the cards as-is (except for the tribes), but I feel like some of the cards might need to be rebalanced later, some of them are pretty op when compared to similar base game cards neurOMEGALUL
-I made Cerber evolve into CerberVT. I assume that's what was intended but y'know
-I made all other cards evolve into a GIGA version of themselves GIGAVEDAL . This has no gameplay purpose and just replaces the default Elder name.
-Due to the abber demon having blood guzzler, this mod is going to have a dependency on the All The Sigils mod which properly adds it to the game. And also the Unused Sigils Disabler mod so the 174+ other sigils in ATS don't show up neurOMEGALUL
-None of the cards do the glowy-eye thing that happens when you fuse a sigil on them. If you want that, I'll need an alt picture of them with the glowy eyes.
-There's art for two ermfish cards in the zip you gave me but there's no stats provided so I didn't add them for now

SWARM Sigil
Effect: When this card takes damage, it summons a [Neuro chat] directly onto the board. The more damage the card receives, the more [Neuro chat] are summoned to swarm the battlefield.

In case you were wondering how things are on my end, making sigils with jsonloader was annoying me, so naturally I did the only logical thing and restarted the entire project with a new system neurOMEGALUL
Finally got all the old cards remade, now I can start focusing on the new stuff, hopefully with some more flexibility. In new news, I added the emission textures, see attached. Might wanna change cerber's though, it's a bit of a flashbang neurOMEGALUL. Also is abber demon's emission texture supposed to be a qr code to cerberroll. I can't tell if that was on accident or if it's high level tomfoolery. If it is intentional, you probably want to make it a bit smaller so it isn't covered by the patch in the top left.

Also! While I was looking around for how to use the new code, I stumbled across a balancing guide made by the original inscryption dev that shows a rough method for keeping cards balanced, which I've attached. Power level of base game sigils can be found here https://inscryption.fandom.com/wiki/Sigils. Might wanna keep it in mind for future cards.
While I was remaking the first 10 cards, I made a few changes to try to bring them in line with the guide. Here's what I changed:
-Pirate Evil: 3HP -> 2HP (vital change, for a waterborne card neurOMEGALUL)
-AnnyTF: 4HP -> 2HP, Brood Parasite -> Brood Parasite
-AnnyTF Wizard: Tri-Strike -> Paintbrush (not implemented yet though lol)
-CerberVT: No change, somehow.
-Cerber: 1 Blood -> 2 Blood, 1 Power -> 2 Power (Cerber wasn't too far off herself, but a 1 blood evolving into CerberVT was too strong)
-Neuro Dog: 4 Energy -> 6 Energy, 2 Power -> 0 Power (big nerf, yeah, but this was the best I could do without violating the guide or turning her into a preexisting card)
-Camila: 6 HP -> 3 HP, Bi-Strike -> Bi-Strike
-Cimps: 1 Blood -> 2 Blood (a 1 blood unkillable card is just generally broken)
-Lucky the Ducky: Okay so this is a weird one. 1 Power -> 2 Power, Airborne -> Airborne & Annoying (so the annoying sigil has a power level of -1, justifying more stats. before lucky was basically just a sparrow, so I thought I'd do something different with it.)
-Abber Demon: 1 Bone -> 0 Bones, 2 HP -> 3 HP (somehow the abber demon was underpowered according to the guide. so it gets a buff.)

Sorgy I've been busy uhh progress update! I finally got gaslight working as intended! Mostly. Found one small issue earlier I'll probably try to fix. But otherwise it's fine. Also went and added the cards that didn't require a lot of work to implement.
Balance notes:
Neuro-Sama: 2 Energy --> 6 Energy, 2 Power --> 1 Power, 2 Health --> 3 Health, Stinky --> Stinky (as funny as stinky is, it has antisynergy with gaslight, which isn't great when she's the only card with gaslight. Also I made her a rare card. Because she deserves it.)
Ermfish: 0 Blood --> 1 Blood, 0 Bones --> 2 Bones
Ermshark: 4 Power --> 3 Power
Numi: 4 Power --> 3 Power
Bao: No change.
Neuro Bread: 1 Energy --> 4 Energy, 0 Bones --> 2 Bones
Gaslight: Triggers at a 50% chance, and can only reflect the damage back onto the attacker.
I'll probably work on implementing more sigils next, as that's the major roadblock for a good number of the remaining cards.
Few other things, I looked into the miku replacement mod, seems mostly like a copy paste job? Which is what I love to see as a programmer. There's like one thing I don't understand about the code though and it's breaking everything, but once I figure out how to fix that I think that should be possible to do with neuro, yeah.
There's art for miniko in the the art folder but I don't think there's any stats posted unless I'm blindge.
I think I'm gonna veto the arg idea, sadly. I do want to keep this project at a semi-reasonable scale, and that sounds like a lot of work neurOMEGALUL. Also the deathcard arg format is console only and probably doesn't make much sense as a mod mostly usable for kaycee's mod. If you want to include an arg reference you could make a card for study-sama/hiyori, though you'd probably want to change the neuro emission arts if you do because I think those are already references to that.
Finally, uh , why is there an old_data.txt in the art folder. I cannot read this

Added and rebalanced a few new cards:
Miniko: 0 Blood --> 3 Blood (I assume having a free 2/4 was not intentional neurOMEGALUL)
Erm: No change.
xdx: 2 Bones --> 5 Bones.
Also, I added the Paintbrush sigil neuroHypers sorta. I don't know if it can get mod abilities/it may be able to get When Played abilities that will never trigger. I'll probably try fixing it again later but it's functional enough for now.
Paintbrush changes: Instead of affecting a random card, you must choose a card (can be your own), and that card both loses its sigils and gains a random new one.
Also, starter decks! Added the Erm starter deck. It functions perfectly as is, but since the starter decks use the act 2 pixel art, the Erm deck doesn't have any art in the starter deck screen either. So if you want those to have art you'll have to send some pixel art to add to them. The same will also apply to any custom sigils a starter deck may have. Also, I need the starter deck icons themselves. The one I used in the picture below is just a temp I made.
Other notes: xdx's art doesn't seem to be working, as you can probably see in the picture. Not really sure why when Erm's art is working fine neuroShrug.
I don't have minawan's art.

Hi sorry I've been busy . Progress update, haven't gotten a whole lot done this week but I did add all the toast related cards!
Melba Toast: 2 Power --> 1 Power
Burnt Melba: 2 Power --> 1 Power (considering Toaster is just basically just dam builder+, it makes sense for the melbas to be a beaver-)
Toast: 3 Health --> 1 Health, Gift when Powered --> Gift When Powered, Battery Bearer
Burnt Toast: 3 Health --> 1 Health, Buff Conduit --> Buff Conduit, Sharp Quills (the conduit-related effects the toasts had before don't mesh well with the fact that the mod currently does not have any other conduits, and gift when powered specifically is almost impossible to make use of with how the sigil functions. So I subbed out those effects with some more general ones.)
And also, the Toaster sigil! I renamed it from Bread. That is the only significant change I made to the sigil. Notably this is the first sigil that works fully as intended right off the bat. Yippee! The only addition I made is related to how Toaster functions when transferred to another card--basically, if a card gets more of its stat points (according to the balancing guide) from blood/energy than bone/mox cards, Toaster will play Toast, otherwise it will play Burnt Toast.
Other notes: If a toast or burnt toast gets fledgling, it evolves into neuro bread. Because I thought that would be funny.
I also added the pixel art to the Erm cards, so now the starter deck looks good.

Oops it's been a week since the last progress update. Sorry, school's been catching up to me. It will continue to happen. In the meanwhile, I added some more cards!
Turtle Soup: 3 Health --> 4 Health
Vadal --> Vedal: 1 Blood --> 3 Blood, Frozen Away --> Frozen Away, Armoured (I really liked the concept of turtle soup but couldn't think of a good way to make vedal be balanced in relation to it, so instead I just turned him into an amalgam of the other two turtle cards neurOMEGALUL. Also I changed his name to Vedal. I figure we need at least one normally named vedal.)
Coldfish: 2 Health --> 1 Health (ignore the fact the image doesn't have waterborne, I just forgot to add it here. Also, I'm probably going to change this later, as it's currently identical to a river otter. I just couldn't think of a better thing to change it to right now.)
Mosquito Vedal --> Mosquito987: 1 Blood --> 2 Blood, 2 Health --> 3 Health.
All Vedal Cards: No Tribe --> Reptile (self explanatory)
YOUR MOM: No change. Changing anything about the card kinda goes against the point of a deathcard.
Bucket of Bolts: 0 Blood --> 1 Blood, 0 Bones --> 3 Bones, 8 Health --> 4 Health, Normal Card --> Rare Card. (Health reduced to be in line with cyber agent dragon's health, otherwise you could have situations where the bucket transforms and then the dragon has 0 health and instantly dies.)
Cyber Agent Dragon: Same cost changes and rare card status as bucket of bolts. (Cyber Agent Dragon is essentially the Flying Urayuli (classic 🦆 🚬), so the cost was increased a bit to reflect that, however due to the drawback of turning into the bucket every other turn (and starting in bucket form, as per my arbitrary decision) it wasn't increased that much. Also ignore the fact that the dragon's name is still bucket of bolts in the screenshot, I fixed that later. It was harder to fix than you would think. )

Y'know I finished the chat collection of cards several days ago and then just. Didn't upload them here. Oops.
Normally I go through and say what I changed about each card, but uh, it would be faster to say what I Didn't change. I might have overcooked. So let's just start from the beginning.
Chat --> 1/1, 2 Energy, no sigils. Their name permanently changes to a real chat member when added to your deck.
Moderator --> 1/1, 5 Energy, Sentry (putting repulsive on a card that can be fused would be too broken so I just moved chat's old sigil to them). They also become a real moderator when added to the deck.
Swarm --> 0/3, 6 Energy, Hivemind and Rampager sigils, Swarm special ability, rare card.
Hivemind (sigil) --> The first time a card bearing this sigil is struck each battle, a Chat card is created in your hand.
Y'know, this mod is really missing something to make it fit with inscryption: some esoteric nonsense. Therefore, we have the Swarm's special ability. In case you don't know, special abilities are effects unique to the card itself that cannot be transferred--think ouroboros upgrade, ijiraq disguise, daus attacks things that attack bells, etc.
In the case of the Swarm (card), its special ability could be described as: When the Swarm rampages through a Chat card, the Chat card is destroyed, permanently removed from your deck (if possible), and the Swarm card permanently gains its stats and sigils. If the Swarm attempts to rampage through a moderator, they will instead not move, and will not turn around.
So each battle, the Swarm can create one Chat, then rampage that card to gain a permanent 1/1 boost. It can gain even more boosts if you obtain a Chat normally and give it a sigil. And you can micromanage a Swarm's position with a Moderator until you're ready to play the Chat card. I made this significantly harder for me than it needed to be, and isn't even the most complicated thing I'm planning on doing. This is fun. I love inscryption

Hey remember that thing I said about the chat collection of cards not being my most complicated change I was making (that I wasn't asked to do)?
I have spent probably like 10 hours total adding Filian, of all cards. As funny as unplayable 0/1 with a fake sigil is, it's not exactly the most balanced of cards. Ssssso what did I do to her?
13+ Blood, 6 Power, 9 Health (haha 6/9 hahaha funny), with the Loser and Virtual Realist sigils.
Loser: When a card bearing this sigil is played, it loses half of its Power and Health. Mostly just made this so filian could simultaneously have the 6/9 statline and a slightly more reasonable 3/5 effective statline, but also balances out other cards with filian's other sigil.
Speaking of, Virtual Realist: If a VR headset is connected, a creature bearing this sigil may be played without paying its cost. But this sigil doesn't mean anything, because you can't actually connect a VR headset.
Ahem. Broken VR Headset: To the user: You will connect to virtual reality. After this item is used, cards with the Virtual Realist sigil will be playable for free for the rest of the run. Yep.
Also , while I'm doing things I wasn't told to, I added another card. Joy: No cost, 0/1, rare, with Mighty Leap and Fledgling, evolves into Bliss (0/3, no other changes), evolves into Ecstasy (0/5, no other changes), evolves into... Nirvana, 7/7, Mighty Leap. So it's basically a urayuli and strange larva fusion. This is the only way I could think to implement nirvana without technically changing its base stats or making it completely broken.

Progress update: woooo boy. In case you've been wondering how I've been doing, I spent three days straight trying to figure out how to apply a blur effect to a card. And then my laptop stopped booting the same day I figured it out. So I spent the next three days trying to save my data and then factory resetting it. Fear not, I made sure that this mod's files were the first thing I recovered, so we're still fine. But considering I literally could not use my laptop, I have not made a lot of progress. Still, here's what I've got.
Codebugs: 2 Energy --> 4 Energy
Ellie Minibot: 0 Energy --> 2 Energy
Clipper: 3 Health --> 2 Health. Name changes like normal chat members, if the name randomizes to staz, the card gains +1/2. I also plan on adding some interaction with the Swarm but not today.
Bug Catcher & Clip: I don't feel like typing out the sigils again, it's in the screenshots somewhere.
The bug catcher video shows only 1 card being put in the hand. This is not intended and I'll fix it later.
Clip. Does what the rulebook says under normal circumstances. If no card is opposing it, instead shuffle a Blank (0/1, free, no sigils) into the draw pile instead. There is a 1 in 10 chance that, if a card should be copied normally, it instead produces a blurry card, with the stats and cost of a Blank but everything else copied from the card it should have copied. I chose to do this blurry effect instead of making a unique blurry card because A: the stats and name not being blurry would've annoyed me, and B: I'm not using that art Erm. This effect isn't written in the rulebook, like brood parasite's hidden effect. There are some vedalIssues, like the fact leshy doesn't say anything when you draw a blurry card (he should), or the cards not being real in the first few videos (already fixed), but I'm too tired to fix those right now neuroSleep.

Well, the big assignment I was stuck on is finally over. I'm not quite out of the woods yet, but I think I'll be able to start getting some actual work done on the mod again pretty soon! I definitely used the time off for schoolwork. I definitely didn't spend 75% of the time playing limbus company insteadglueless
Anyways, it was pretty much inevitable I was going to do something on the mod in that time no matter how hard I tried to focus on schoolwork, but I also didn't want to start anything big, so I just did a bit of housecleaning instead:
-Completely recoded Gaslight. It's functionally the same, but the code doesn't suck now. (It was coded as a shield that infinitely restored itself and had a 50% chance to take damage anyways previously.)
-Fixed Bug Catcher only giving 1 card. (I guess you could say. That. That bug was. The bug was cau)
-Fixed Clip being able to copy giant cards such as the Moon and the Limoncello. This was a thing it could do before, apparently. As funny as it would be to let that happen, giant cards break the game when on the player's side of the board, so.
-Also fixed some other weird bugs with Clip.
-Changed the names of a few cards to be closer to the person's name instead of their account name (no more Anny the fucking Wizard, Sadge).
-Changed the Toaster sigil's text to include the "defined as" text that sigils which give inherited sigils to their created cards have
-Figured out the semi-finalized list of songs I'm going to add to the jukebox. Didn't actually add them yet, but I have the list.

Massive Loser Challenge: The last card in your opening hand every battle gains the Loser sigil.
I nerfed it a bit because applying Loser to every card might be a little much, but I really like it on just the last card specifically because if the Fair Hand mechanic makes you draw a card, it's always the last one, so this challenge makes it that mechanic less important. Currently has a strange bug where if your hand has duplicates it applies the sigil to the first copy instead but I don't think that matters gameplay wise so surely it's fine NeuroClueless .
Also, for some reason the exclusively red art of the challenge icons needs to be black in the files otherwise it just doesn't. Show up. I don't get it either. And I think the activated art is just the part that glows? So. Yea.
I'll probably go back through this channel and anywhere else the art may have been posted soon to make a list of things I've yet to add.

OK finally finished my last exam. Just in time for nwero birthday too, perfect timing! It also means it's time to Lock In here too.

Also, I added the other Starter Decks! We now have the Cerber deck (Cerby, Minawan, Minawan (I didn't know what the third card should be)) and the Swarm deck (Swarm, Moderator, Chat).
Also, the challenge icon is still broken. I think it's a me issue. I'll figure it out later.

OK progress update. I was planning on adding more today but I was lazy so this is what you get.
Added all the songs! Replaced one of neuro's songs from what were originally said. Take one guess what it was changed to. I cut the video off early but you're gonna have to trust Chinatown blues and IDWTBAE are there. The songs can also be disabled in the config file.
Also, went and changed the scrybe noises finally as well. They are no longer miku. For neuro I just kinda went and grabbed a bunch of sounds from https://nuero.fun/noises, and for evil. Well. I did the same, but like. Neuro has a decent amount of sounds to pick from but it was enough to look at most of them at least. Evil on the other hand, has way too many to check for the BEST sounds, so I just kinda picked a couple random ones. They both have approximately 30 sounds to pick from, and that does include a couple of abber demon sounds for evil.

Also, went and made that list of things I have yet to add. There was honestly less than I expected. Should be able to get the non-special cards out of the way pretty quickly.
I do have some questions about a few things though:
-Why does Layna have a second form? How does she activate it?
-Where are the plushies used? They're terrain cards, so I assume they're not just like, normal cards, right?
-What does toma's tomato sigil do?
-I have art for neuro/evil Minecraft skins, Hiyori, and orbber, but couldn't find any stats for them.
-I have art for a 3DS, amalgamation, and WIP sigil, but have no idea what they do or who would use them. Or if the WIP is a real sigil or an actual placeholder.
-What's up with the vedal abomination?

Might just be me but if you're not replacing leshy with a 3D neuro (that would be sick), changing his sounds seems a bit off

I have returned. Sorry it's been a bit, the game jam took quite a lot out of me. Still, I've been getting back to work in the past week.
Card updates!
Toma: 3 Attack -> 2 Attack, Tomato Sigil -> Morsel (considering I don't have a great idea as to what this sigil could do to differentiate it from Morsel, I just gave her Morsel instead. I might change it later if I think of something else for the tomato sigil instead)
Toemaniacs: 2 Health -> 1 Health
Xeno: No change.
Anneel: No change.
Toffee: 2 Power -> 1 Power, 1 Health -> 2 Health
Teethbot: 4 Energy -> 6 Energy, 4 Health -> 1 Health
Layna: No direct changes to her base stats...but, I did change her alt form. Instead of switching on every sacrifice like child 13, she now switches to blood mode after 5 sacrifices, losing Many Lives and Worthy Sacrifice to gain Blood Lust and Blood Guzzler.
Evil: 0 Energy -> 3 Energy (side note: unlike something like sharp quills + touch of death, gaslight + touch of death will not insta-kill enemies, since the enemy is considered the source of the damage. so evil's combo isn't as broken as it may seem)
Evil Bucket of Bolts + Evil Cyber Agent Dragon: 0 Blood -> 3 Blood, 0 Bones -> 5 Bones, Not Rare -> Rare (ignore their wrong health in the screenshot I just forgot to change it)
I also coded the plush cards but I still don't know what their purpose is so they're unused for now.

Adding those cards is not what I spent most of my time recently working on though. The voices in my head (alex) successfully convinced me to look into replacing leshy with a 3d model instead of the png thing the miku mod does. And then the sunk cost fallacy claimed me once again. So uh...wowie, look at her sitting there! Amazing. There's still a lot left to do for that though, particularly adding evil and making them actually animate instead of doing the cinema pose the entire time. I've got ideas on how to do it, I just need to actually do it...and then remake all of leshy's animations with neuro...5 minute coding adventure, really.
