Putting this here for visibility and community feedback! 
Polls were added to Discord out of the blue with no permissions or documentation on how to disable them—if that were even possible. That's pretty bad for us as a large public server, because now there's a larger bit of effort thrust on mods to make sure people don't poll spam. Three or four polls can take up a 1080p display worth of a chat. As a quick workaround, I programmed NeuroBot to auto-delete polls the moment they're sent.
I don't think I need to explain what a poll is, but they're a useful way to gauge interest in ideas, give a clear yes/no to a question, or just have a funny moment. I don't think they would be harmful for the server.
That being said, while allowing polls with no further action probably wouldn't do much harm if people respect the flow of chat and not spam it, we all know that's bound to happen, so I propose we allow it but with a modification to NeuroBot to rate limit it per-channel - perhaps once a minute.
