How about programming the clock so that, after a certain amount of time or subs is gifted, the time added per sub becomes lower?
Instead of having a fixed value or cutting off at a certain point, this way, subs can still contribute to making the stream longer, but the time organically decreases.

Personally, I think having a hard cap may discourage people from gifting, knowing that the stream is most likely to reach the cap regardless and last the maximum amount regardless of their contribution.
I think that's okay; some people gift subs to support the streamer.
However, this way, the people who gift to see the numbers go up can be happy too! 😛
