A great idea imo. People who want more rants could literally pay to get more rants. It would be even better if you could define a topic for a rant in your dono message.
I can see it being like adding "rant:" in the beginning of your donation message and thus prompting for a reply rant with bigger than usual "schizo slider" value.
@icy river No, I think you'd have to keep it at a higher cost, as a rant takes a lot longer than the usual responses. So if the cost is decided, then it'll just automatically prompt the rant prompt with your message. Though she often talks about her life during rants, so maybe as it's set up, an arbitrary topic may not be so easily incorporated. But IDK how it works.
And the message queue is already quite long -- which is what prevents rants.
Why would you force a user to get a rant automatically?
Higher cost - sure. But to decide the kind of repsonce you're getting only on the amount donated instead of what user wants to hear is weird.
@icy river If you pay the exact amount of a rant, then you get a rant. It won't be often that someone arbitrarily paying higher for a normal message would pay the exact price.
I still don't understand "why" do you want to tie rants to a specific amount of money, instead of the user's input?
@icy river It's just simpler. And most people always pay 300 bits for having their message read.

The implementation would be simple in either case, it's more about what makes sense from the ux perspective
I think overall it's a fine idea but i wonder if it may take away from the spontaneity and unpredictability of the rants
People will just start farming them and then it's neurover
Maybe a better way would be to have a fixed chance to get a rant with a normal message and make it a lottery system

If it's priced too low then I think most people would go for the rant rather than a normal

I assume donowalling needs to be fixed first. It would be a lot worse if she starts donowalling people who paid a noticeably larger amount of money.
I doubt that paid rants would be overused, making Neuro read your message used to be 5k only but now people send more tts messages than these 5k non-tts messages even though price of tts used to be 20k at some point, hearing the message on stream is that valuable to most people apparently.
That ratio could be controlled with both the price of the guaranteed rant and chance for a rant in normal donos. So if too few people buy a more expensive option some variables may be changed

No tts response to tts + response is a direct upgrade while a rant is in a whole new league, I don't think the pattern can directly translate. But I see what you mean, maybe tts holds enough value in its own.
