#If there's a lack of Donation messages, have TTS occasionally read chat messages

Don't know if it's just me. But I tend to prefer hearing messages being read by TTS so we're not missing context. I know that would result in more messages not being read in the long term.

Towards the end of the Witch stream the donations slowed down and so Neuro was kind of just responding to things in chat without anyone having context.
I was thinking. If the Donations begin to slow down/stop during solo streams, having TTS read certain messages might make the stream feel less lonely and allow us to know what she is responding to.

If there's a "lack", but there is none currently.

#

If anything Neuro needs more downtime to rant.

compact agate
#

Can't she do that when responding though?

native atlas
#

Notification noise before every TTS is PTSD inducing despair imagine if Neuro decides to respond to multiple messages at once

compact agate
#

But...she doesn't do that?

shadow crypt
#

She often responds with one liners to bits. I'll be alright with more TTS if the responses are more ranty.

compact agate
#

From what I can tell, she only gets interrupted by multiple messages during Collabs/Devstreams.
I've rarely ever seen that happen in Solo streams except in the very rare occasion the TTS glitches out, which is very rare.

During the ELO stream (as an example of a stream with a lack of TTS) there were plenty of responses addressed to multiple people. It'd be horrible with so much TTS

compact agate
#

I think the ELO was a one time thing, since it was kind of a disaster.

#

Personally I just hate when Neuro responds to something in chat, but 99% of viewers have absolutely no context as to what she is responding to.
It works when she repeats the message but I think if we were to go the route of having the message be repeated, I'd rather TTS did it instead of Neuro.

#

I guess another method would be if it displayed the message she responds to on stream, but I get the feeling people would hate the visual clutter.

Real streamers don't actually highlight the messages that they responding to, this would be the most annoying thing ever. Usually reading chat messages that aren't just emotes actually works to find out what she might respond to.

#

Sometimes Neuro even namedrops the person she responds to in chat

compact agate
#

keyword being sometimes

#

I just don't find scrolling back through chatlogs to be a fun way of guessing what message she might respond to

#

Also as much as I like Neuro, you have to accept the fact she isn't your average streamer.

#

Feels unreasonable to assume she will be exactly the same as a real streamer

tropic basin
#

80% of average streamers have TTS too for donations and it's annoying enough, we're here for Neuro not constant TTS.

I'm here for Vedal 😎

Same. I preferred that style.

#

Like, Neuro might say something that's really funny, but falls flat without the context.

tropic basin
#

She usually gives context by saying something like "My opinion on X?" etc.

compact agate
#

Not as much anymore, that's what we were saying.

tropic basin
#

So having TTS will just result in context being given twice and it would suck and result in even less chat messages being read.

compact agate
#

You could always have one or the other, not both.

#

Either she is forced to repeat it, or TTS says it and she is forced not to repeat it.
Besides, "context given twice" argument can be applied to Donation TTS already.

Screw that, let Neuro rant instead of reading braindead messages from chat. Screw tts in general, in fact

compact agate
#

Removing all form of interaction with her community will make solo streams pointless

Neuro can just repeat highlighted messages instead of needing them to be read out by tts

I guess that's why it's a based statement neuroShrug

If you want to watch a content creator that doesn't care or interact with its fans I'm sure there's plenty of other content creators you can watch.

compact agate

Like, literally before your first post.

Weird to see someone with a TF2 avatar annoyed by repeating the same jokes, but fair enough.

tropic basin
#

It's perfectly possible for chat to have conversations with Neuro if she doesn't start saying something like "NOWAYING? WHAT'S THAT"

compact agate
#

I do admit that bugs me.

#

I wish it was possible to condense repeated messages into a single post, so it doesn't have so much weight/chance of being read

#

when repeated at the same time I mean

I’d be fine with more ranting if there’s dead air tbh

compact agate
#

yeah

#

It just felt kinda awkward towards the end of the stream, don't know if anyone else felt that way with the witch stream

The problem with how TTS is currently implemented is that because people give money Vedal feels obligated to have Neuro read the message. However, chat pulls Neuro in many different directions and there is ALOT of TTS to get through so she can't go IN DEPTH on a topic. And TTS always interupts her train of thought with whatever topic a chatter wanted.

heavy hedge
#

literally just make TTS more expensive so there's less of it and he makes more money at the same time

soft torrent
#

Interactivity is nice, but if I think people would prefer longer better replies instead of having to get through everybody who wants to talk to neuro (which is everyone)

soft torrent
heavy hedge
#

If they want to bleed money so be it, as long as there's less TTS Neuro might be able to go more in depth with each one

#

You still have point redeems which can't be readily bought

soft torrent
compact agate

What do you mean by cooldown? Aren't channel points already timegated?

compact agate

compact agate

I don't know if that's possible through Channel points but I see what you mean. Time gated to only one per stream or something. And while it does sound good, when it comes to 5k viewers on average I'm not sure how well that would work.
Obviously I doubt they are going to be free, but I imagine 5k TTS over the course of a single stream could last 3 hours or so.

But I do like the idea.

#

This thread I can see by popular vote was a failure. I wasn't aware of how many people were actually against TTS.
I'd delete it but I feel like that's the bad option.
