tldr; I want to create a simple karaoke vod site just for songs, read the rest for more details.

I am really sad that a couple of songs i absolutely love are basically only available on that drive, if possible i would rather also have the actual vod option and a place where i can play them.

In 2 weeks I will be done with my uni exams and will be able to work on a site to address this.
I will open source it as well so that others can give suggestions, tho it will be mostly golang + htmx with some js sprinkled in so I'm not sure how many here will be able to add stuff.
The idea will be to mostly make it a "reusable" thing so that if some other community wants to have their own karaoke vods or similar they can semi easily host it themselves

It will be an "archive" site where you can create playlists and favorites( share them later).
All the data will be stored in browser cache at the start, later i can add basic OAuth with a basic sqlite db or something.
I will figure out the details once i actually start.

If I do start this, i will need help from clippers to gather all the songs and their vods, well as many as possible at least.
If you have any suggestions and questions ask them here and I will respond from time to time when I'm on break.

What is your plan on hosting those claimed vods?

am not sure if they were claimed or not, just that they dont ever get uploaded so thats why i would need help to identify what gets claimed or not

for hosting it would be on a vps im renting in 720p / 1080p

depends on the traffic, 720p is easily doable, i have 20tb traffic a months so that would be fine

even if you have a potent vps you would have to be careful about space

agree, id have to look into the storage a bit more, tho if the vids are for now in 720p it should be good just to even see if the concept works
