The desert that is the song suggestions channel is seriously annoying

Here are the problems I see in this channel:

1- People are starting to be less active in the channel, which means a lot less songs are suggested.

2- A lot of people ran out of songs to suggest

3- Because of those two factors, there are also a lot less thumbs up on songs. It's now more rare to get even 1 thumbs up.

As a solution to this, I suggest that we have to give a thumbs up to a song before suggesting one.

At least that's one solution, what solution do you guys think would help put some water in this desert? (no begging for likes, that won't help)

The thread has 3k+ messages. I am sure there it's a good amount of songs suggested already. I don't see any shortage of songs.

Yeah, but it's exactly because there are so many songs posted that I'm, running out of songs

kind of, maybe if we are good we 3k songs, then maybe lock the channel and use those 3k songs?

I'm seeing ~30 min intervals on avg between song suggestions, so it's not a desert channel by any means.

Given that Vedal only need to add ~7 songs per 2 weeks, there will be a selection still for him to choose from.

it's sometimes longer than an hour of delay, I think even there was once a day with no suggestions. The delay was shorter before, and there was less random big gaps

Right, scrolling up I'm seeing intervals of several hours between suggestions, but why lock the channel as a suggestion?

My point was, if we have 3k songs/7 songs a weel, why need more? but you're right, we do need more suggestions

But because of the deserting, those songs don't get as much attention as before. Not to mention less thumbs up, which means less chance to be picked for the next karaoke

it's not a perfect system by all means
but there isn't time to listen to every song, upvotes are good so i know its actually a song people like rather than some dudes fav.
you can repost songs, i check the channel daily for songs and usually only scroll up a few weeks to check for upvotes, and note down the songs that have them

i think duvet was posted like 3 times, only the last time had many upvotes so i gave it a listen (banger song)

songs with more than like. 5 upvotes have very good chances.
though there are other things to consider like how complicated it'd be or how well it'd fit her range

Thanks for explaining, so it is indeed about upvotes. And that's why I think the lack of upvotes is a big problem. There isn't as many 5+ upvotes songs as before. There was only one or two 5+ upvotes song this week
