#An Idea on How to Filter Messages from Chat.

A few weeks ago Vedal brought up that twitch chats messages are to short for Neuro to provide a good response, so I thought that to get a response to Neuro you need an application where you can toggle whether you are just chatting or you are looking for a response from Neuro.

Another option is having a website where chat asks questions from Neuro, while twitch chat is just for chatting.

This is just a thought, if there is anything you want to add do so.

Yeah that's true but maybe an extension would work. I honestly am just throwing ideas out here.

vast majority of users don't even have the 7tv emotes and you expect them to download some obscure extension evilWheeze

same thing, imo we should stick to twitch chat to talk to neuro, although there could be that for the goddess stream #1142525089389215764

the reason why we can only talk to neuro via twitch chat is because anything else would make a "queue" for neuro, and we dont want her constantly responding to stuff

nothing, the current way is good

The best thing i can think of is to have Neuro be on some "single emote cooldown" where she still can answer some omegaluls from time to time but it wouldn't be just that during spam.

sullen moon
#

she already has prevention for that

violet valley
#

there is no issue then

sullen moon
#

she will focus on longer messages whenever she can

dim ivy
#

problem is chat stopped asking her interesting questions and she just keeps reading emotes and short messages

#

there's already an emote filter but that doesnt include everything

#

it doesnt make much sense to use anything other than twitch chat given that neuro is the streamer

everything neuro says is AI generated, to make a fixed response to spamming emojis would defeat the purpose of neuro (yeah "filtered" exists but if it didnt neuro would probably get banned)

tribal jungle
sullen moon
#

yeah but its not needed for neuro, spamming is not a problem, she would focus on awnsering questions if they appear

#

plus awnsering multiple at a time with a summary just doesnt make sense, do we want a conversation or an AI that awnsers questions?

humans simply don't answer every question that's the point, eg: if 3 person ask what the fact of the day is, you wouldn't reply to it 3 times with different answers, you would remind it's already asked.

if people keep asking, it could just be replied to as a general commentary. its 1-to-1 conversation to vs group conversation

that is the issue why she sounds like an answer bot now. it must be able to summarize that the current X numbers of queued chat are repetitive, short, and uninteresting that a sweeping remark will address it.

this is different scenario to TTS dono-walling at: #1140718527142187078

sullen moon
#

there are no queues

#

she picks a random question from the chat and awnsers it

#

the tts problem has been solved

#

if she doesnt awnser a tts question, its probably because its in the filter

tribal jungle
# sullen moon there are no queues

it's still a queue queue since it's the nature of a chat being answered one after another1. it doesn't have the context that picking the 10th questing being "What is the fact day" and then, picking a similar question 100 chat lines later so it usually answers again, this is what causes the effect that she seems not to remember things

So, what is the problem with tying Neuro's responses to a twitch command; is it because it would make Neuro less engaged with twitch chat?

sullen moon
#

it would defeat the purpose of neuro

crimson prawn
#

Maybe the chats using the twitch commands could be weighted to have a response more often. That way she can still respond to the entirety of chat. Or, are you saying that using a twitch command breaks the immersion.

sullen moon
#

no, neuro is not suposed to have a queue

crimson prawn
#

So how does Neuro respond to chat messages right now?

sullen moon
#

she picks randomly out of the chat

crimson prawn
#

Are all twitch chat messages recorded within a certain domain of time and then picked randomly out of that?

sullen moon
#

no

#

after she awsners a question, another one is picked

crimson prawn
#

Can't a list of chat messages be made and once it reaches a certain length, perhaps affected by the rate of chat messages, Neuro will respond to a random chat message from that list and the list will be replaced by a new empty list for it to be filled again. That way Neuro will not be constantly responding to messages, and messages from a long time ago will not be responded to. Obviously this does not have anything to do with filtering chat messages, but I do not see a reason why there can't be a queue/list.
