Hello everyone, today I would like to voice my concerns on the auto-deletion of long messages this server has.
On a number of occasions I have written a long text post, these have all been legitimate messages, such as my opinions on an anime, a list of stream suggestions I was discussing, and a few more.
When I write a long message, I pour my heart and soul into it, but if I go over a certain character limit my message is automatically, instantly deleted with no recourse or warning.
My guess is this function is in-place to combat spam, I've seen bots join servers and post large walls of text repeatedly before and I can see how this resolves that problem.
I would like to list my concerns and suggestions with this rule.
- This rule is not listed anywhere. I have no chance to account for it beforehand. If I were aware I could split my message into smaller messages.
- There is no warning before this happens. Having a message be deleted without warning is painful because my content has been removed and I'm not able to split it up retrospectively, or maybe post it somewhere else. It's disheartening, and makes me very, very, very sad

- I don't understand how beneficial this rule is. Although I'm not witnessing the good it could be doing, to me it seems heavy handed and detrimental to discussion.
I have some suggestions to improve this situation, if the rule is indeed beneficial and still wanted:
- In order to fight spam, only auto-delete long text if it's posted multiple times in a row.
- Rather than auto-delete, flag mods for attention, this could be used in conjunction with more risky users such as those that are new to the server or do not have embed-perms etc.
- DM the action to the user in question. I'd feel a lot better if the deleted message were sent to me so I have the opportunity to revise, split up, or move the post elsewhere.
- Create a public log of the removed messages, this is similar to the above.
