Been playing with my son, teaching him the ropes with the Bloomburrow Starter set, and the avatar jumpstart decks, and he's taken a liking to them. Played commander a few times but all I have on hand are my LotR/DW prebuilts (they all have a lot going on) and my Banding deck, which, well ya know.

At one point I had a decent deck for each of the 4 avacyn angels, so I've got a lot of staples on hand, but the part of the spectrum I'm on sure doesn't lend itself to creativity/building from scratch.

I think I'd like to build him a boros deck that does both weenie, and direct damage, a sort of hybrid/flexible role, but doesn't have a lot of planning/complicated deck interactions. Instant damage and sideways creatures.

Does anyone have a deck list or two that I can go off of to put it together for him?

Maybe also an Azorius deck that has evasion and simple blue staples, or Selesnya with some light ramp and big beaters.

Definitely looking at brackets 1 and 2 here

I play Boros soldiers I could see that being a fun bracket 1/2 deck. All the coolest soldier cards, some fun instant pump effects, and feeling the good feels of a high synergy deck. [[Catapult master]]and [[catapult squad]] really made me feel like I was a deck piloting rockstar back when I made it. The deck has been heavily altered and isn’t really bracket 1-2 anymore.

For selesnya, big mana convoke could be a good place to start. Playing little guys and using little guys to get big guys . Are you planning on building them like a little cube (meaning decks that are designs to be played against each other)?
