I mean heliopterus just isn't worth it's mana cost, for the same cmc you can get much more value, same goes with ceratops bc wheter you like it or not mtg is a huge value race first and foremost. As for cosmium blast it's just bad removal that gets expired early. You know you can respond to attack with any instant right?
