[[Lurrus of the Dream-Den]] or [[Silas Renn]] & [[Rebbec, Architect of Ascension]]
The Lurrus deck is fully fledged out and I can build the Silas Renn & Rebbec version myself so no need for cuts or specific card suggestions! I also own all cards needed for both decks, including the ever-so-expensive mana base. Feel free to use individual cards to support your opinion one way or another!
Problem: Lurrus is quirky but Silas Renn & Rebbec might be smoother, more consistent and able to protect itself better. I value originality and I have no need to build this for any specific power level. I'll just play it in an appropriate pod for what that matters.
Is Silas Renn's combat trigger hard to get going given that Rebbec might come down a turn later when Silas Renn has lost summoning sickness?
Will Rebbec stick? I'd have access to counterspells which could improve my survivability.
Will Silas Renn stick before Rebbec is out?
Do you think sacrificing originality could result in fewer non-games assuming Silas Renn & Rebbec is more consistent? Having fewer non-games could be more fun if I don't lose out on my stuff being removed all the time.
I do lose out on a couple of cards; namely I cannot run any equipment such as Cranial Plating, Tarrian's Soulcleaver or SKULLCLAMP.
But on the other hand I get access to blue tutors, better generic draw and most importantly counterspells.
Opinions? I'm just bouncing ideas here and simply can't decide which one to proceed with.
