Hi, trying to buiild my first [[Queen Marchesa]] deck. I have a list that's probably a bit too creature-heavy, but heavily leans on token generation and sacrifice/death triggers. It also has a bunch of cards for reclaiming the Monarch, which I'm not so sure I need, but like at the moment.

I've been looking at Poison/Proliferation as a secondary theme and wincon since I'm including a [[Yawgmoth, Thran Physician]]. However, this would require a lot of trimming from the current creature stack to enable things. Those cards, and a bunch of potential upgrades across the board, are included in the Considering section.

I could definitely use suggestions on cuts and replacements (from the Considering section or elsewhere) for making the poison theme work, or simply making my sac/death trigger theme work better. Thoughts, Comments, and Criticisms all welcome.

Thanks!

Some thoughts I'm having:

  • i probably need more draw engines. [[Esper Sentinel]] would be nice, but its very pricey. [[Mangara, the Diplomat]] is something else I'm considering.

  • i probably have more ramp than i need, but i'm not quite sure

  • [[Karazikar, the Eye Tyrant]] is a nice source of goad, and combos nicely with [[Royal Assassin]] for extra removal. if i were to run poison/proliferate, I could add [[Sinew Dancer]] in addition or as a replacement to Karazikar.

  • [[Kambal, Consul of Allocation]] doesn't feel like he does much. He's a control effect and I don't have much of that as it is, but also he themes well.

  • Do I have enough token generation or reanimation to properly fuel my sac engines?

Legendary Creature — Beholder
Whenever you attack a player, tap target creature that player controls and goad it. (Until your next turn, that creature attacks each combat if able and attacks a player other than you if able.)
Whenever an opponent attacks another one of your opponents, you and the attacking player each draw a card and lose 1 life.
