A useful feature was predefined transitions between the next hologram that are played from playlists. A simple 0.5 sec dip to black or crossfade could increase the comfort of watching holograms of different depths without a sudden jump that causes a 1-2 sec delay before the eye gets used to the new image 🙂

This is not a bad idea, but you would also have to fade out the depth and not just the color (likely with a separate transition)

#

otherwise you would have potentially two very different depth ranges overlapping superimposed, which is worse than a hard cut

So this?: )

I've seen some 3D films that tried a simple cross-fade and it's really bad

#

yeah, like a fade to black like that would work

#

what I do is switch instantly to a new image, but fade that in from an average color (not black, sampled from the image). So when you click next, the current image disappears instantly and then the screen is a blurred solid color for a split second and the new image fades in. this looks the best in my testing

this already works, and I plan to launch before the end of November (hard personal deadline)
