In terms of potential long-term impacts, I really don't see much difference in the future than to what we see today. There will always be a split between e-sports and traditional sports participation and viewership, and will most likely always stay in a more favorable viewership ratio to traditional sports to e-sports. Just look at the super bowl, or soccer championships. Now compare that to CSGO, Overwatch, or League.

I've been following e-sports for quite some time (since jhs), it is growing than the last few years, but that doesn't cut the fact that traditional sports are still up there, people can like both, e-sports and traditional sports, and there's no harm in there.

Will there be changes on how things go? As per now, altho e-sports is growing, it still need a push to come close to the traditional sports viewerships welp the world cups, NBA, and super bowl are top notch can't argue with that (idk bout other sports league kekw). While e-sports have majors, pro league, and TI to be hoped for. I think personally it's been on a stagnant.

What about the impacts? As I said before, I believe both can live together without harm, but depending on what kids on this generation prefers, that might bring up some changes in the viewership ratio, but not in the near future (I'm saying like 50++ years from now, imo).

I don't really think that there's a significant impacts, since both of them are just for entertainment after all.
