The extent to which people pay attention to how they look varies greatly from individual to individual and can be influenced by a range of factors including cultural, societal, personal, and psychological factors.

But, you shouldn't feel like your ugly, gross, disgusting. The beauty standard is just an "standard". Most people comply with it, and make themselves feel like trash, when they try to comply with other people's opinions. They will give up and still be themselves, or take years to be a "Beauty standard" of themself. They'll regret ever complying with the beauty standard, years already passed.
They'll regret it, when they realize they were just ruining themselves instead.

But you shouldn't always feel like you're gross, make sure to have some confidence in yourself 🙂
Remember this, "Always be yourself. rather then pushing yourself to the maximum."

To what extent ? When you’re not comfortable but you prioritize your looks above your own satisfaction. Wear whatever you like, do whatever you like as long as its right and it feels good for yourself

To some extent, I agree that we pay way too much attention to how we look. Especially when you're scrolling through Social Media and just seeing what 'influencers' want you to see. This gives the impression that they are perfect and distorts your perception of reality. The best illustration of this is the Korean Beauty Standards; because they watch all of those kpop idols all the time, they want to meet those standards as well, which is unrealistic.

As a result, people are pressured to conform to beauty standards, which causes anxiety and low self-esteem.

What is most important is to remain mindful of how we look while remaining true to ourselves.
